0%Liverpool bounced back from a Premier League defeat to win away from home in the Champions League against LASK in a nine-goal thriller in Austria.
Goals from Ronald Araujo and Bradley Barcola twice in the first half put the Reds in cruise control at the break.
The second half would be more end to end.
With LASK scoring three, but thanks to another goal from Barcola to get his hat-trick as well as a Frimpong header and a cool finish from Lewis Koumas, LFC took all three points back to Anfield and ensured that they remained unbeaten in Europe this campaign.
Here are our player ratings (out of 10) following this emphatic victory.
Alisson Becker - 7/10
Had little to do all game, and couldn't do much about any of the LASK goals.
Kostas Tsimikas - 7.5/10
Two assists for the Greek scouser and was superb going forward for the Reds, could have done better defensively for the 3rd goal for the home side.
IMAGO / GEPA picturesJeremy Jacquet - 7.5/10
Not a lot for him to do, and was taken off with half an hour to go.
Ronald Araujo - 8/10
The Uruguayan was a constant threat from set pieces and eventually got his goal. Like Jacquet, he managed to be taken off early and given a little bit of rest ahead of the weekend game.
Jeremie Frimpong - 7.5/10
A goal with an impressive header and an assist, but he still looked shaky defensively for the three goals.
Ryan Gravenberch - 7.5/10
Was the senior pro in the midfield in this game, and acted as such, cutting out any danger and being a reliable partner to the young Trey Nyoni.
IMAGO / STEINSIEK.CHTrey Nyoni - 7.5/10
The English midfielder looked like this was his 50th Champions League game; instead, it was his first start in the competition. Line-breaking balls kept his side ticking moving forward, and it was a performance that will give him so much confidence.
Rio Ngumoha - 7.5/10
Looked dangerous on the right wing, particularly in the first half,
Florian Wirtz - 8.5/10
The German needed a confidence-boosting performance after weeks of criticism, and he certainly got that tonight. Got an assist and looked much better overall, despite the level of the opposition.
Bradley Barcola - 9/10
Scored his first three goals for the club all in one game, a perfect evening for the French forward, who will be glad to get off the mark following his summer arrival.
IMAGO / GEPA picturesLewis Koumas - 8/10
Had two goals ruled out for offside, but finally got his deserved goal. Work rate and energy as always; he is fitting very well into Iraola's system.
Substitutes:
Virgil van Dijk - 6/10
Took a little while to get up to speed with the game, and was part of the reason why LASK got three goals.
Joe Gomez - 6/10
Similar to Van Dijk, he was slow to get up to the pace of the game and was caught out, especially for the first goal.
IMAGO / GEPA pictures Victor Muñoz - 6.5/10
Was always a willing runner from deep for LFC as they looked to see out the game when he came on.
Alexis Mac Allister - 6.5/10
The Argentine came on to steady the ship that had let in three goals in the second half, and did that effectively.
Luke Chambers - 6.5/10
Put in a decent cross shortly after coming on, but ultimately helped get the victory over the line.
Author's Verdict - Player of The Match - Bradley Barcola
A hat-trick away from home for Barcola, exactly what he would have dreamed of the night before this game.
IMAGO / GEPA picturesIn the first half especially, the link-up play between himself and Florian Wirtz was scintillating, and will give fans some hope that the two of them can strike up a deadly partnership when they return to league action in the coming days.
