England return to Wembley after a very successful away trip to Croatia over the weekend, and with Rio Ngumoha included yet again in the matchday squad, could we see Liverpool's young starlet get more minutes for the Three Lions?

The Nations League - England v Czechia

The Three Lions play their final game of this extended three-week international break as they take on Czechia for the second time at Wembley Stadium.

Both sides will come into this game with polar opposite form and morale, with Czechia having not picked up any points so far in their first three fixtures, while England will be full of confidence after an emphatic win away in Rijeka.

Last Time Out: Croatia v England (3rd October 2026)

Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha was part of a record-breaking England side as they put seven goals, without reply, past a poor Croatia team, setting a new record for the biggest winning margin in UEFA Nations League history, and to do it away from home was all the more impressive.

While there were only 6,000 Croatian schoolchildren and 100 England fans in the stadium, due to the home team's supporters having a one-match ban after abusive language was heard during a Nations League game against France in 2025, the victory for Thomas Tuchel's England side was seismic.

However, Anfield starboy Rio Ngumoha did not feature for his country in this impressive win, not starting or coming off the bench for the Three Lions. So this may give LFC fans some hope that Ngumoha could be set to play a role in the final game against Czechia, where a win would all but secure England a top-two spot.

Rio Ngumoha Contract Latest & Why He Chose The Move To Liverpool?

The tricky left winger recently turned 18 years old, meaning he is now eligible to sign a professional, long-term deal with the Reds. It was previously reported by several journalists that talks between the club and Ngumoha's representatives were ongoing and that they were progressing well.

David Ornstein also came out during September going into some detail about Rio Ngumoha's current situation at Liverpool, and he explained that the teenage sensation had shown no signs, up to that point, of unhappiness or a desire to depart Anfield in the near future.

And despite his current contract running until 2028, the Merseyside club determined to hold on to him long into the future.

When away on international duty, Ngumoha has spoken about the reason why he chose the move to Liverpool over the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Bayern Munich, who have all expressed interest in him, or in Chelsea's case, actually had him in their academy.

“Liverpool was always the RIGHT option and really the ONLY option. I knew that if I went there, I’d get the opportunity and the pathway to showcase what I can do, and it looks like so far it’s paid off.”
