Nations League Clash With Czechia

Tuchel’s side are searching for a response after beginning their Nations League Group A3 campaign with a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Spain at Wembley.

England had previously won 15 consecutive matches against European opposition, while their away record under Tuchel remains perfect, four victories from four without conceding.

Rio In Matchday Squad

Rio Ngumoha’s remarkable rise shows no sign of slowing down, with the Liverpool teenager reportedly included in England’s 23-man matchday squad for tonight’s UEFA Nations League clash with Czechia.

According to the Mirror, the 18-year-old has made Thomas Tuchel’s final selection for the game in Prague, putting him in contention to earn just his second senior England cap.

Ngumoha was named in Tuchel’s original 27-man squad for the September and October international window alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and former Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.

It represents another significant milestone for a player whose development at Anfield has been rapid.

Ngumoha made his senior England debut on June 6, 2026, coming on during the second half of a 1-0 victory over New Zealand in Tampa. In doing so, the Liverpool winger became the fifth-youngest player ever to represent the Three Lions. He currently has one senior cap to his name.

From Academy Prospect To Senior England International

Now another opportunity could arrive under the lights in Prague. Ngumoha’s inclusion provides another intriguing storyline.

The teenager was part of the wider squad against Spain but failed to make the 23-man matchday selection.

For Liverpool, it is another indication of just how highly their young attacker is regarded.

From academy prospect to Liverpool first-team player and senior England international, Ngumoha’s journey has accelerated at frightening speed.

A second Three Lions appearance tonight would be the latest landmark and perhaps another glimpse of a player England and Liverpool supporters could be watching for years to come.
