Premier League: Matchday 9
The Gunners arrive on Merseyside following a shock Carabao Cup defeat away to League Two side Fleetwood Town, so Mikel Arteta will be hoping his side can respond to that cup tie shock by securing their first win at Anfield in over a decade.
Andoni Iraola's side go into this clash with momentum fully behind them after a dramatic victory over Chelsea in the cup, with penalty shootout heroics from Giorgi Mamardashvili allowing the Reds to advance into the quarter-finals.

The last time these two sides met was at the start of last season.
Just the third game into the 2025/26 season, Liverpool had secured two late and dramatic wins against Bournemouth and Newcastle, with the first real test on paper coming from Arsenal.
It was a tight and cagey affair with neither side being able to break the deadlock until a moment of magic from Dominik Szoboszlai.
A free-kick from 32 yards out, hit with purpose, power, and most importantly, accuracy, flew past David Raya in the Gunners' goal to stun the away fans and send Anfield into celebration.
However, with Liverpool now being under new management, and a host of new players in and around the Reds' first team, who will be the player to take the headlines this season?
Last Time Out: Liverpool v Chelsea
A thrilling night under the lights midweek as Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup.
Xabi Alonso and Jordan Henderson were among the people standing in the way of LFC's progress in a competition they have won a record 10 times, and the home crowd did not give them a warm reception.

Shortly after, the Reds would get a penalty of their own, thanks to a handball from Wesley Fofana, which Cody Gakpo finished emphatically.
The rest of the game was very scrappy, with neither team really able to gain lasting control over the game, meaning penalties were needed in order to decide the winner.
And after a Kostas Tsimikas miss, a Giorgi Mamardashvili save and a Joe Gomez arrow into the top corner, it was Liverpool who advanced.
