Liverpool's October Fixtures 2026: Full Schedule, Dates, Kick Off Times and Opponents

Liverpool's October schedule has become clearer in recent days, following the club's success in the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup. LFC will play a total of six games across the month, with three competitions all featuring, meaning that by the end of October we will have a much better idea of how this season may look for Andoni Iraola's side. 

So here is a breakdown on each game that awaits the Reds next month.

Manchester City - 11th October

Following an extended three week international break, Liverpool return to action with a tricky league game, taking on last season's Premier League runner-up Manchester City.

Like LFC, Man City are also under new management this season. With long-serving manager Pep Guardiola departing in the summer, the former treble winners needed a new figurehead for their new era and appointed Enzo Maresca.

The Italian head coach has had a strong start to life in Manchester, having a 100% win record in the league, most recently defeating Manchester United in his first local derby, as well as starting their Champions League campaign with a win away to Porto. 

So this game will be a huge test for both managers, but particularly for Andoni Iraola, as this will arguably be the toughest test he has faced since he arrived on Merseyside.

But the fact that the game is at Anfield will give fans a little more confidence that the home crowd will help guide their team to victory in this encounter. 

LASK v Liverpool - 14th October

Next up will be an away trip to Austria as the Anfield-based side heads to Linz to take on LASK in their first European away game of the campaign.

LASK has made a few people take notice of them this season already after coming back from a 4-0 deficit against Celtic in the final qualifier for the Champions League league stage and winning 5-4 on aggregate. 

This demonstrated to the rest of Europe that an away trip to Linz will not be easy for any side, and the Austrian league champions have the quality to cause major upsets in this year's competition. 

So the Reds will need to be laser-focused going into this game, because despite having the on-paper quality to win this game comfortably, the home side has shown that they are not to be underestimated. 

Brentford v Liverpool - 17th October

Back-to-back away games for Iraola's squad as they make the trip down to London to take on a Brentford side that seems to be growing in confidence and quality every game under Keith Andrews. 

This is a game that LFC has struggled to emerge with three points from in the past, as shown last season when they lost 3-2 at the Gtech Community Stadium, getting played off the park for large portions of the game.

And given the way the Bees have started this season, it is set to be another difficult game for Liverpool, and their third in six days. 

Liverpool v Villarreal - 20th October

A likely welcome return to Anfield as La Liga side Villarreal comes to town in a repeat of the 2022 Champions League semi-final.

The two sides played each other for a spot in the final. LFC came out of the home first leg with a 2-0 win; they then won the return leg in Spain and booked their spot in the final, where they would lose to Real Madrid in Paris.

However, both teams have come a long way since then, but both find themselves at the start of a new era.

Villarreal find themselves with a new head coach following the exit of Marcelino Garcia in the summer, but have had a very poor start to the season, failing to win any of their opening five games in the league.

So whether current boss Inigo Perez is still in charge on October 20th remains to be seen, but with ex-Premier League players like Nicolas Pepe and Ayoze Perez in their ranks, the Yellow Submarine will certainly present a challenge for Andoni Iraola's men.

Liverpool v Brighton - 25th October

Back-to-back home games follow the successive away fixtures, Brighton make the long trip up north to Anfield in a league fixture that has all the ingredients to be an exciting clash. 

Under Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton have been remarkably good going forward, scoring 13 goals in their opening four league games, the most in the Premier League. And with Liverpool's similar attacking mentality, this could be an end-to-end, high-scoring game.

There is another subplot to this game after the Reds' pursuit of winger Yankuba Minteh in the summer.

While Minteh will likely still be unavailable for the visitors as he recovers from an injury sustained in pre-season, there might be that extra edge to the game after the transfer window drama between the two sides.

Liverpool v Chelsea - TBC

And the final fixture of this six-game run will be the return of the Carabao Cup, after it was decided that Andoni Iraola would go head-to-head with former LFC player Xabi Alonso for the first time since he became Chelsea manager. 

This is likely to be a clash that is talked up massively in the build-up as Alonso returns to Anfield as Chelsea boss, after many said in the summer that Liverpool should have made a move to bring the Spaniard back to Anfield.

But the club chose a different Spanish coach, and this will be, in some people's opinion, Iraola's opportunity to prove to everyone why the club went with him over the former Liverpool midfielder.

When this game will be played is still to be confirmed, but it will take place in the week commencing October 26th.
