Vinicius Junior’s name has been floating around recently, with his future currently uncertain. The Real Madrid winger has one year left on his deal, and a move away could be on the cards.
Clubs from the Premier League have been linked, as well as the Saudi Pro League. The Brazilian star has a huge decision to make this summer.
Vinicius Junior’s Contract Situation
Real Madrid have allowed Vinicius’ contract to run down to its final year, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the 26/27 campaign. Discussions have taken place over the past season; however, negotiations have reportedly stalled.
One thing is for certain. Real Madrid absolutely do not want a player of Vinicius Junior’s calibre to leave for free; therefore, they have a decision to make.
Liverpool Made Aware of Vinicius Junior’s Situation
According to Ben Jacobs, the camp of Vinicius Junior had got in touch with Liverpool to let them know of the situation. The Merseyside club have been keen on bringing in multiple forwards this summer, following the departure of Mohamed Salah.
There was no engagement from the Liverpool side. The club were allowed to pursue the Brazilian but opted not to.
Whilst Vinicius Junior is a world-class talent, the situation Liverpool find themselves in is that there’s no room for a player like him in their squad. They need right wingers, not players who operate on the left.
Other Clubs Monitoring The Situation
With Liverpool out of the equation, other clubs are keen on potentially signing the Brazilian. Most notably, the Premier League champions Arsenal are interested, reports David Ornstein.
At this point, it is extremely early and just early-stage exploration, but it may be one to keep an eye on given Arsenal’s failed pursuit of Morgan Rogers. The former Aston Villa player preferred a move to Chelsea.
Naturally, the Saudi Pro League continues to knock on the door of Vinicius Junior. They have the financial capabilities that teams in Europe don’t possess and could be tempting for the Brazilian.
Last year, a £1 billion contract was offered to the player from Al-Ahli. That’s enough to tempt any player in world football.

Vinicius Junior is world-class, and there’s no doubt he would bring quality to Liverpool. At this moment, a move simply doesn’t make sense, given the current squad of the Reds.
Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, Victor Munoz, and Federico Chiesa are all capable of operating from the left wing. It’s not about quality, as Vinicius would be the best option, but no top club has five left wingers and zero options from the right.
Given the status of the player, it will be a huge situation to keep an eye on this summer. Real Madrid don’t want to let him go for free, Arsenal want to build on their recent success, and the Saudi Pro League continues to tempt the biggest stars in football.
