With the Cherries going 18 games unbeaten to end the season, after being stripped of 3 of their backline in the summer and losing Semenyo, arguably their best player in January, Iraola has proven time and time again that he knows how to make the most of his resources.

With him now officially announced as the new Liverpool boss, it's worth investigating what Andoni Iraola's first Liverpool XI may look like when the league starts up in August.

This one may be a bit obvious, but it's Alisson Becker. The Brazilian shotstopper has been a mainstay in Liverpool's team since his signing in 2018. While he was linked to Juventus, the club has since told the Brazilian that he is staying put for this season.

While it is hard to imagine Giorgi Mamardashvili staying put on the bench this season, with him potentially moving out on loan, one of Freddie Woodman or Ármin Pécsi will deputize for Alisson, especially considering his recent injury issues.

Starting on the right hand side, which has been the main problem position for Liverpool this season, the expectation is that Jeremy Frimpong will be the starter there under Iraola. The Spaniard tends to utilize his fullbacks as wingbacks, and it is hard to imagine that this will change at his new club.

Frimpong is familiar with the wingback role, which will be similar to his role at Bayer Leverkusen, and his attacking prowess will help bring the goal threat back to Liverpool, which they've been lacking for a while now.

The two center backs would be a pairing of Virgil Van Dijk and the new boy Jérémy Jacquet. With the recent departure of Ibrahima Konaté, expectations will be high of Liverpool's new £60 million man.

The inclusion of the Reds skipper will be no surprise to anyone, while Jacquet is the obvious choice to step into the partnership. Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni are likely to see some playing time next season there as well.

Finishing on the left, we'll see a reunion of Iraola and Milos Kerkez. The left back was utilized to his potential with the Cherries, and fans will be excited to Kerkez blossom in Red next season.

With current personnel, the double pivot will likely consist of Ryan Gravenberch and Lamine Camara. Iraola has been operating with a ball winner in midfield, which is a profile Liverpool need at this point.

Lamine Camara would be an obvious choice for the Reds. Averaging almost 8 ball recoveries per 90, the Senegalese midfielder is a powerhouse at the six. Ryan Gravenberch is an excellent ball carrier, and his progressive play would be utilized as an outlet for a coach whose prowess is counter-attacking football.

In front of those two is Florian Wirtz. Expectations are that the German will occupy the second striker role that was filled by Eli Junior Kroupi at Bournemouth. While Wirtz didn't light up the Premier League as expected, he was nothing to scoff at, bagging 15 G/A in all comps last season.

Wirtz will flourish in Iraola's side, and will show why Liverpool paid a staggering £116.5 million for his signature. The German is young and hungry, and he'll have a chance to show it next season.

The era of Salah being a mainstay in a Liverpool XI is no more. The Egyptian King has departed this summer, leaving a hole on the right-hand side of the field. I'm expecting this slot will be filled by none other than the Hungarian captain himself, Dominik Szoboszlai.

He's formerly played on the right before, namely for RB Leipzig prior to his transfer to Liverpool. Iraola loves to have a winger who can invert to make space for their fullbacks, and Dominik can do just that.  This would compliment Frimpong, giving him a better opportunity to get wide and get a cross into the box.

On top of that, Szoboszlai is a pressing machine, and with the way Iraola sets his team up, he'll need players who won't stop running, and Dom will fill that role perfectly.

On the left, Yan Diomande is linked and would take the starting role over Rio Ngumoha as he continues to progress and improve. While he was touted as a Salah replacement, his typical position is out on the left, and he is right footed which allows him to cut in and make space for Kerkez on the left.

While still unknown if Liverpool will splash the reported €120 million on the Ivorian, his profile would make him an excellent fit in the transitioning side.

This is the easiest position to fill on the XI besides Van Dijk, and it's none other than Alexander Isak. The record signing is fully fit, and looks to be finding his feet again with the Swedish national team.

With Hugo Ekitike out until midseason at the earliest, Isak will have a big role to play in the team. While viewed mainly as a poacher, Isak has shown his ability and willingness to pick up the ball deep and carry it forward to produce chances.

The Swede has also shown promising signs of being able to work with Florian Wirtz, and that partnership will be vital to Liverpool next season, as they work through the loss of their main goal threat in Mohammed Salah.

Unless significant moves are made in the transfer market, with striker being a position that is not a massive priority for the club, expect Cody Gakpo to come off the bench up top until Ekitike makes a return to fitness.

Obviously, this XI is a very early prediction, and the transfer market has always been extremely volatile. Who Liverpool's recruitment team decide to bring in is still a mystery, and who departs the Reds this summer is equally as mysterious.

What is known at this stage, is that Iraola will bring a very different philosophy to this club, and will bring back a style of football that the Anfield faithful will be very familiar with. For some players, this will be a blessing, but for others, it may bring an end to the time they've spent at the Merseyside club.
