Written off, questioned and desperate to prove a point, a dazzling cameo in Spain proves a timely reminder of what Elliott brings to the table.
Harvey Elliott has endured a frustrating few months away from Anfield, but the Liverpool midfielder may finally have found the spark needed to reignite his career, producing an encouraging second-half display in Valencia's dramatic 2-2 draw against Racing Santander.
The 23-year-old has faced criticism since arriving in Spain, with questions surrounding his fitness, consistency and ability to establish himself in La Liga. However, Sunday's performance offered a timely reminder of the technical ability that once made him one of Liverpool's most exciting young talents.

Introduced in the 58th minute by new Valencia manager Javier Aguirre, Elliott helped inject fresh energy into a struggling side that had fallen 2-1 behind.
Valencia had initially taken the lead through Dani Raba after just two minutes, before Yassir Zabiri equalised and Iván Martín completed Racing's turnaround shortly after half-time.
With his side chasing the game, Aguirre turned to Elliott and youngster David Otorbi.
Seven minutes later, Otorbi restored parity following excellent work from Javi Guerra.
Elliott's Performance: Creativity, Movement And Attacking Intent
Although Elliott did not register a goal or assist, his contribution went beyond the scoresheet.
Operating between the lines, the Liverpool loanee looked to receive possession in advanced areas, connect with teammates and provide an additional creative outlet.
His willingness to move into pockets of space and play progressive passes helped Valencia develop a more threatening attacking rhythm.
Spanish outlet VAVEL awarded Elliott a 7/10 rating, praising his passing, movement, imagination and technical quality in the final third.
However, the reviews were not universally glowing. Diario AS acknowledged his willingness to find space between the lines but suggested he lacked the decisive attacking impact needed to truly influence proceedings.
For Liverpool supporters, those contrasting assessments will sound familiar. Elliott's intelligence and technical ability have rarely been questioned, but translating promising passages of play into consistent match-winning contributions remains his challenge.

Before Sunday's encounter, Elliott had accumulated just 85 minutes across three La Liga appearances, without making a single start.
His difficult adaptation followed an equally frustrating spell at Aston Villa, where opportunities proved limited.
Nevertheless, Aguirre appears willing to give the midfielder a fresh opportunity.
Speaking after the draw, the Valencia manager praised Elliott's efforts in training alongside Raba and Hugo Duro, while expressing satisfaction with his team's collective attitude.
For Elliott, the challenge now is turning an encouraging cameo into a regular starting position.
Liverpool know better than most what the midfielder can offer when playing with confidence. His vision, close control and ability to unlock defences have never disappeared.
One substitute appearance will not transform his career overnight, but after months of frustration, Elliott finally has something to build upon.
And for a player desperate to remind everyone of his quality, that could prove invaluable.
