Javier Aguirre could finally offer the Liverpool midfielder the opportunity to remind everyone exactly what he is capable of.
The 23-year-old's loan spell at Valencia has been overshadowed by questions surrounding his fitness, limited playing time and a difficult introduction to La Liga.
Encouraging Words From Aguirre
However, encouraging comments from his new manager suggest the tide could finally be turning.
Speaking to Spanish publication Superdeporte, Aguirre praised Elliott's determination to improve his physical condition and make an impression.
"I see him more refined. He is working with a private nutritionist. I'm delighted with his attitude."
The Valencia boss continued:
"He has a lot of quality and he's a Valencia player. You have to get the best possible out of it."
Aguirre also acknowledged the importance of communicating directly with the Englishman, explaining that speaking the same language has helped their working relationship.

Elliott's arrival at the Mestalla was supposed to provide a much-needed opportunity to rediscover his confidence following a frustrating loan spell at Aston Villa.
Instead, his Valencia debut came during a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Barcelona, with the midfielder subsequently struggling to establish himself in the starting eleven.
His appearances against Sevilla and Real Sociedad offered occasional glimpses of his technical ability, while a 32-minute outing against Racing Santander saw him complete 15 of his 20 attempted passes.
Despite those flashes, Elliott has yet to register a league goal or assist, highlighting the challenge still facing him.

For Liverpool supporters, Elliott's situation is particularly frustrating given the talent he has demonstrated throughout his career.
His outstanding performances during England's triumphant 2025 European Under-21 Championship campaign, where he was named Player of the Tournament, showcased his creativity, intelligence and eye for goal.
Across 149 Liverpool appearances, Elliott scored 15 goals, contributing to a trophy-laden period at Anfield.
Yet talent alone cannot guarantee opportunities. With Valencia struggling near the bottom of La Liga, Elliott must now translate his renewed determination into consistent performances.
Aguirre's arrival could prove crucial, particularly with the Mexican already demonstrating a willingness to involve the midfielder.
For Liverpool, the hope is simple: regular football, restored confidence and a player rediscovering the spark that once made him one of England's most exciting young prospects.
Elliott's career has reached another crossroads, but at 23, there is still plenty of time to rewrite the narrative. And perhaps, under Aguirre, that comeback is finally beginning.
