Andrew Robertson is set to leave Liverpool Football Club after 9 successful seasons. He joined the club in the summer of 2017 from Hull City for £8 million. He adapted quickly and replaced Alberto Moreno.

What would follow are 9 years of winning multiple trophies, including 2 Premier Leagues, a Champions League title, 2 FA Cups, 2 EFL Cups, UEFA Super Cup, and a Club World Cup.

This season, however, was a tumultuous time for the club, being hit with the tragic loss of Liverpool and Portugal Star Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, with Robertson being a very close friend of Diogo.

The Season started, and although they won 5 consecutive games, it started to go downhill very quickly. He then lost his place to the new signing Milos Kerkez, found game time hard to come by for the rest of the season.

Liverpool announced his end-of-season departure on April 9th. It was reported on April 11th by Fabrizio Romano that Robertson has a verbal agreement in place with Tottenham, provided they can survive relegation.

That remained as the most likely destination for the former Liverpool left-back until very recently, when Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Juventus have made a formal offer to Robertson with the intention to hijack the deal from Tottenham, with whom he had initially agreed personal terms.

Author's Take:

Personally, I don't think Liverpool should have let Andy Robertson go. His Experience and leadership was so valuable to the team, him leaving alongside Mohamed Salah is a big blow, not because the club can't find a talented left-back, but his experience and personality, how that helped morale in the dressing room, that cannot be quantified.

Now that he is leaving, the best choice would certainly be Juventus. Tottenham's incompetence in management and operation in terms of hierarchy almost cost them a place in the Premier League.

Juventus may have underperformed by missing out on a Champions League spot, they are certainly well-placed to go again, and the experience and quality of Andrew Robertson, even at the age of 32, cannot be underestimated
