Tomás Aranda may be sidelined by injury right now, but Liverpool are already plotting for the future, with a 2027 move for the highly-rated Argentine teenager beginning to take shape.
Liverpool’s search for the next South American gem appears to have taken them to La Bombonera, with Boca Juniors teenager Tomás Aranda reportedly emerging as a serious name on the Reds’ radar.
Liverpool’s Next South American Star
Argentine outlet El Intransigente reported on 23rd September that Liverpool have a “concrete interest” in the 19-year-old and are closely following his progress, with an offer potentially arriving at the beginning of 2027.
That timeline is significant because Aranda is currently recovering from a serious fracture to his right fibula, suffered during training in August. He subsequently underwent surgery and began rehabilitation, with his return expected in 2027.

The injury has interrupted what had been a rapid breakthrough year. According to FBref, Aranda has made 29 appearances across the competitions it covers in 2026, starting 21 and recording one goal and three assists in 1,873 minutes. In Argentina’s top flight specifically, he has one goal and three assists from 19 appearances.
Those numbers hardly scream superstar, but they don’t tell the whole story. Aranda is a technically gifted, right-footed attacking midfielder who can operate centrally or from wider positions.
He only made his senior Boca debut in January and scored his first goal against Instituto in March, while his progress also earned recognition within Argentina’s international set-up.

From a Liverpool perspective, the attraction is obvious. Aranda isn’t someone you’d expect to arrive at Anfield and immediately become the main creative force. Instead, this would be a recruitment move based on what he could become.
His ability to receive possession between the lines, carry the ball and drift across attacking positions would provide Liverpool with another versatile option capable of developing into either a No.10, advanced No.8 or wide playmaker.
Price Tag
There is, however, conflicting information surrounding his potential price. Some reports have placed his market valuation at approximately €9 million, while a more recent El Intransigente report says Boca have Aranda contracted until December 2029 with a $20m release clause that can rise to $25m outside Argentina’s transfer window.
Liverpool aren’t alone either. Arsenal, Chelsea and Italian clubs Como and Parma have also been linked with the youngster.
For now, this is one to watch rather than an imminent deal. But if Liverpool’s interest develops into the reported 2027 offer, Aranda could become another fascinating long-term addition to Anfield’s increasingly youthful attack.
