Liverpool could be preparing one of the most intriguing double raids of the summer, with the Reds reportedly looking to bring both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain to Anfield.

Lewis Steele reports  Liverpool are patiently waiting for PSG to complete their own incoming business before attempting to accelerate deals for the two attackers. The report suggests that, once PSG bring in reinforcements, both moves could develop quickly.

And while signing two players from the same club might sound like an unusual strategy, the profiles of Barcola and Mbaye are strikingly different.

Barcola the Headline Addition

At 23, Barcola would represent the immediate first-team signing. The France international enjoyed another productive campaign in 2025/26, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances, while also adding two goals and four assists in the Champions League, as logged by FBref.

His overall PSG numbers underline his development. Transfermarkt records 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 appearances for the French giants across all competitions.

For Liverpool, his biggest attraction is not simply his goal tally. He predominantly operates from the left but is comfortable drifting across the frontline, giving Iraola another player capable of stretching defences and attacking space behind a high line.

Mbaye Offers the Long-Term Upside

Mbaye is a different proposition. Still only 18, the PSG academy product is viewed as one for the future rather than an immediate guaranteed starter.

The Senegal international recorded three goals and two assists from 23 Ligue 1 appearances during 2025/26, accumulating 997 minutes, according to FotMob.

His numbers need context. Much of his development has come through limited minutes, but his pace and directness from wide areas have already made him an increasingly useful option for PSG.

At Liverpool, Mbaye could initially rotate between the first team and development football, gradually being integrated into Iraola’s senior plans.

A calculated Gamble?

The potential double swoop would give Liverpool one attacker ready to make an immediate impact and another with significant development potential. Barcola could compete for a starting role straight away, while Mbaye would provide squad depth and a long-term project.

The bigger question is whether PSG are willing to allow both players to leave. For now, nothing is done.

But if PSG complete their own recruitment, Liverpool may suddenly find the door to Paris wide open.
