Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola appears to be entering a decisive stage, with a fresh report claiming the Reds are prepared to pay €140 million including bonuses to bring the Paris Saint-Germain winger to Anfield.

The figure, reported by Le Parisien via Vibes Foot, would represent another enormous statement of intent from Liverpool. However, the €140m figure has not yet been independently confirmed by Liverpool or Paris Saint Germain.

Is Barcola Liverpool Bound?

What is clear is that Barcola has emerged as one of Liverpool’s leading attacking targets. The Guardian reported earlier this week that Liverpool view the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, with the player reportedly open to a move to Anfield.

There have also been encouraging developments from Paris.PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has refused to completely rule out Barcola leaving this summer, with Al-Khelaifi admitted to beinSPORTS:

Enrique's Stance

While manager Luis Enrique has made comments suggesting the club could look for a solution involving players who are not fully committed to the project.

The PSG boss sidestepped a question on Barcola's future, stating:

"I don't know and I don't want to speak about any player individually,"

"Because it's always dangerous when you are asking something positive or negative about a player. I stay focused on my team."

That situation could become even more significant following PSG’s reported move for Ferran Torres, with claims that PSG have agreed a deal worth around €50m (£42.7m) for the Barcelona forward.

Barcola By Numbers

Barcola’s numbers also explain why Liverpool would be willing to consider such a staggering investment. During the 2025/26 Ligue 1 campaign, he recorded 11 goals and one assist in 29 appearances, with 1,750 league minutes and a 7.36 average rating.

Barcola moved to PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported £38.5m and has since also won three Ligue 1 titles, the French Cup twice, as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Perfect Fit For Liverpool

The French international offers something Liverpool desperately need, explosive acceleration, one-versus-one ability and the capacity to attack space from the left. His age also makes him a long-term signing rather than simply a short-term solution.

There is still work to do. Liverpool must agree a fee with PSG, and Arsenal have also been linked with the winger.

But with Barcola reportedly receptive to the move and PSG appearing increasingly prepared to consider his departure, Liverpool’s interest has moved well beyond a casual rumour.

If the €140m claim proves accurate, the Reds could be preparing one of the biggest attacking gambles in their history and potentially their next superstar winger.
