Preview: Everton vs Man Utd!More Videos

Manchester United finally got their Premier League season into swing with a thumping 5-2 win over Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.

A hat-trick from club captain Bruno Fernandes, as well as a goal from Bryan Mbeumo and an own goal from Jacob Greaves, gave United a well-deserved three points, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo also earning praise for brilliant displays.

Next up, United travel away from home to face Everton for their second visit to the Hill-Dickinson Stadium, where Carrick's men won 1-0 last season thanks to a brilliantly taken strike from Benjamin Šeško.

With United three points on the board and a fixture against Manchester City looming on the following weekend, the tie against the Toffees will be essential in building momentum.

Below is the latest on United's injury situation, with possible returns against Everton in the works.

Amad

What happened: Amad missed the Hull City match after featuring in United's final pre-season game against AC Milan, sustaining an injury in training.

What's been said: Roundtable understands that Amad could be out for up to six weeks following his injury, which would mean he wouldn't return until October due to the international break.

Potential return date: Saturday, 10 October vs Tottenham Hotspur.

Carlos Baleba

What happened: Baleba suffered an ankle ligament injury during Brighton's pre-season campaign before joining the Reds for £65 million last week.

What's been said: The midfielder is expected to return to fitness in the next few weeks and could make his debut before the international break.

Potential return date: Wednesday, 16 September vs Brighton.

Mason Mount

What happened: Mount was withdrawn before the 20-minute mark against Paris Saint-Germain after taking a knock to the foot. He was seen walking out of the stadium without a limp but did not feature against Leeds United, AC Milan or Hull City.

What's been said: Mount is back in full training with the squad but missed the fixture against Ipswich Town, although it's thought this is not down to any further problems.

Potential return date: Sunday, 6 September vs Everton.

Matthijs de Ligt

What happened: The Dutchman suffered a back injury in November 2025 and has not played since. He underwent a back operation toward the end of last season.

What's been said: De Ligt has been seen in training with the first-team squad, although it is only the early stages of his rehabilitation.

Potential return date: Late October.

Manuel Ugarte

What happened: Manuel Ugarte suffered an ACL injury while at the World Cup with Uruguay, and has started his rehabilitation after undergoing surgary.

What's been said: Reports suggested at the time that his injury recovery could last around nine months, although the timeline will depend heavily on how well his rehabilitation goes.

Expected return date: N/A
