In the last game before the international break, Senne Lammens and Lisandro Martínez combined for a poor own goal against Fulham, resulting in a 1-1 draw. 

Both players have taken blame for the goal, with fans saying Lammens should have palmed the ball away from goal and Martínez should have done better with the rebound. 

But, like the rest of the Manchester United squad, neither player has had a great start to the campaign, with Michael Carrick's side picking up just five points in five games and being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Brighton and Hove Albion. 

Despite the difficult start, both players were called up to their international sides. Martínez's Argentina face Bolivia on Wednesday, 30 September, while Lammens started for Belgium against Italy on Friday evening. 

Youri Tielemans also started in central midfield, having impressed alongside Kobbie Mainoo for Manchester United. 

Belgium impressed with a 2-0 win against Italy in the UEFA Nations League, taking the lead inside 20 minutes and holding onto their advantage for the rest of the 90. 

Both Lammens and Tielemans played the entire match, with the former making six saves and recording 51 touches while keeping a clean sheet. Some even handed him their Man of the Match award. 

Tielemans also impressed, making 15 passes in the opposition's half, as he captained his international side. 

The Belgian duo will likely feature twice against France and once against Turkey before returning to Old Trafford at the end of the international break. 

While Lammens is nailed on as Manchester United's first-choice goalkeeper, especially after Karl Darlow's poor performance against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup, Tielemans is less certain to start in central midfield. 

The former Aston Villa midfielder faces competition from Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos to start alongside Mainoo in central midfield. 

Baleba made his first appearance in a matchday squad against Fulham, but has yet to make his debut for Michael Carrick's side since moving from Brighton in the summer. 

Santos started against Hull City on the opening day, but has not started since and failed to get off the bench for Brazil in their first international tie against Australia. 

Before he moved to Old Trafford, some felt that Tielemans could not start alongside Mainoo, as the midfield would lack legs and be overrun. It has not seemed like too much of an issue, but Baleba will likely get the nod when he is fully fit.
