Loan Watch: An Update On Every Man Utd Loanee

While the end of the window was quiet, Manchester United were busy during the summer rebuilding their midfield, after their attacking restructure last year. 

Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba are the standout players to move to Old Trafford – interestingly, all from Premier League sides – while Karl Darlow, Tynan Thompson, Kit Margeston and Cristian Orozco also joined the club. 

With so many incomings, outgoings were always going to be important. Some players have left the club permanently, but for many, United decided a loan move was the best way forward. 

Here is an update on every player who has left Manchester United on loan and how they are doing so far. 

Who has he signed for? Onana rejoined Trabzonspor after spending last term on loan with the Turkish side. 

How is he doing so far? The Cameroon international has played five matches (two in the Europa League), with one draw, one loss, and one win in the league. They will compete in the Conference League after losing to Ferencvaros in the Europa League qualifiers. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? June 2028. 

Who has he signed for? Like Onana, Koné has returned to his loan club from last season – Lausanne-Sport (INEOS-owned). 

How is he doing so far? He has played seven matches this season, with one goal and one assist to his name. The 20-year-old's assist came in a 2-2 draw against Young Boys. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? Unknown. 

Who has he signed for? After a spell with Shrewsbury Town last season, Harrison has joined Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship. 

How is he doing so far? Harrison has made four appearances, with Greenock Morton on one point. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? June 2027. 

Who has he signed for? The 28-year-old has moved to Celta Vigo for the 2026/27 campaign. 

How is he doing so far? Bayindir has been named on the bench in all three matches, with his side 16th in the table. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? June 2027. 

Who has he signed for? After a good spell with St. Mirren last season, Devaney has returned to Scotland to play for Hibernian, who have an option to buy him at the end of the loan deal. 

How is he doing so far? The 19-year-old played 81 minutes in a 2-1 win against Dundee FC in his debut for the side. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? Devaney signed a new deal to remain at Manchester United until June 2029. 

Who has he signed for? The 19-year-old has moved to Rotherham United in League Two. 

How is he doing so far? Fitzgerald played 22 minutes from the bench against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday evening. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? Unknown. 

Who has he signed for? Manchester United's 250th academy graduate has moved to Lincoln City in the Championship. 

How is he doing so far? Wheatley has played five minutes against Blackpool in the EFL Cup, but has twice been an unused substitute since. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? June 2028. 

Who has he signed for? Southport in the National League North. 

How is he doing so far? Honor has made five appearances, with his side 21st in the table. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? May 2027. 

Who has he signed for? Gore returns to League One to play for Jack Wilshere's Luton Town. 

How is he doing so far? Gore played 65 minutes in a 2-0 win against Stockport County on Wednesday evening. 

When does his Manchester United contract expire? May 2027. 

Who has he signed for? Dundee FC in the Scottish Premiership. 

How is he doing so far? Moorhouse is yet to feature after moving on Deadline Day.

Who has he signed for? The young Dane will play for Willem II in the Eredivisie this season. 

How is he doing so far? Obi has yet to feature after officially signing on Thursday, 3 September.
