Michael Carrick will once again be without a full squad for the visit of AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as they host AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
It will be a huge match for Michael Carrick, given the embarrassing loss to Como in the Champions League, during which the head coach and Matheus Cunha had a heated half-time argument.
With injuries plaguing the squad, Cunha could still feature against Bournemouth, who sit 15th in the Premier League after seven matches. They have won just game.
However, the Red Devils have not beat the Cherries at Old Trafford since January 2023 under Erik ten Hag.
Kobbie Mainoo
What happened: Mainoo has not featured in a Manchester United squad since the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
What's been said: Before Como, Carrick said the youngster would be out for another "10 days or so".
Possible return date: Saturday, 31 October, vs Chelsea.
Ayden Heaven
What happened: Heaven missed the trip to Leeds United with an illness and did not prove his fitness before the trip to Como.
What's been said: In his pre-match press conference, Carrick said: "Ayden is back with group, he was suffering from illness but is back around the group and then we'll see what the next couple of days bring [for the others]."
Possible return date: Sunday, 25 October, vs Bournemouth.
Marcus Rashford
What happened: The England international has been suffering with a hip problem for most of the season, and has been rested the last few games.
What's been said: "Marcus is still feeling a bit of a hip issue we're trying to overcome," Carrick said before the trip to Italy.
Possible return date: Tuesday, 3 November, vs Roma.
Lisandro Martínez
What happened: The former Ajax defender was withdrawn after 45 minutes against Leeds United with what appeared to be a thigh problem.
What's been said: Ashley Young claimed the substitution may not have been due to injury, while Carrick said: "Licha is not too bad, but he's not with us, we'll have to see if he's ready for the weekend," before the Champions League tie.
Possible return date: Saturday, 31 October, vs Chelsea.
Benjamin Šeško
What happened: Šeško missed all of pre-season with a shin problem, which appears to have flamed up again after some Premier League minutes.
What's been said: "I'm not trying to delay it, hopefully by the end of the week we will have something clearer. There has been some work going on," Carrick told reporters last week. Perhaps the head coach will issue another update in his post-match press conference.
Possible return date: N/A.
Luke Shaw
What happened: Shaw started after the international break against Tottenham Hotspur, but has not been with the first-team squad since.
What's been said: "Luke is a little bit longer than that," Carrick said after saying Mainoo would be out for 10 days before the Champions League match.
Possible return date: Sunday, 8 November, vs Aston Villa.
Patrick Dorgu
What happened: Dorgu picked up an injury while on international duty for Denmark and has not made a matchday squad since.
What's been said: Carrick said its "the way it goes sometimes" when talking about Dorgu's injury and not signing a left-back.
Possible return date: N/A.
Manuel Ugarte
What happened: The Uruguay international picked up an ACL injury while at the World Cup.
What's been said: Reports suggest Ugarte is back in the gym, but ACL injuries take a while to recover from.
Possible return date: 2027.
