Old Trafford officials have dismissed transfer rumors, cementing the Ivorian winger as a cornerstone of their long-term project despite mounting interest from top European and domestic suitors.
Manchester United's forward line has seen a complete changeover since their disappointing 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season. However, Ivorian winger Amad was the shining light in that side, securing 11 goals and eight assists in all competitions.
Whilst Amad has been playing in a more favourable forward position, minutes have been much thinner this season, with interim manager Michael Carrick opting to use the forward as more of a rotational role.
The summer recruits of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have added the quality in front of goal which held United back from securing points in 2024/25, and this has seen Amad's numbers drop significantly.
With the summer transfer window on the horizon and reports that AC Milan and Sunderland have expressed interest in the winger, Man United have made their thoughts on a potential sale loud and clear.
Man Utd insiders "laugh off" Amad departure
TEAMTalk have reported that any ideas of the sale of Amad have been "Laughed off" by Man United insiders as the forward remains firmly in the club's long term plans.
The report reveals that Amad has been delighted with the tactical shift away from Ruben Amorim's wingback system which found Amad in more of a defensive role limiting his creative spark and freedom.
The club view Amad as one of the most exciting attacking talents at Old Trafford, with the intention that he can become a player the club can build around for the long term.
Sporting director Jason Wilcox is largely responsible for this commitment to Amad, as the Ivorian was handed a long-term contract in January, reinforcing the club's trust in the player.
This comes amid reports that Sunderland would be keen on re-signing the winger, having already attempted to do so several times in the last few seasons.
Carrick's use of Amad
The report also reveals that Carrick is an admirer of Amad and values his work ethic and versatility, which will prove to be crucial if United aim to push across all four competitions next season.
United's front line this season has seen more fluidity in game with players making runs freeing up space to attack. Amad's confidence operating in multiple areas of the final third has shown to often influence games and better United's attacks.
With the summer transfer window looking like Man United are prioritising strengthening their midfield, keeping Amad at the club will only strengthen their attacking line, with the youngster's technical quality sparking excitement within the club.
With the club confirming that they have no intentions of letting Amad go, next season would presumably hold a more integral role for the winger as United's squad depth gets pushed to its limits.
