One of Manchester United's latest signings has claimed he already knows what he needs to do to be a success at Old Trafford.
Manchester United have already completed four signings this summer, although one of them has been kept slightly under wraps.
Despite agreeing a fee for Éderson, United chose not to sign the Brazilian central midfielder after his medical tests produced concerning results.
Andrey Santos from Chelsea was the first official signing of the summer. The 22-year-old central midfielder joined the club for £48 million, with another £2 million in add-ons.
Karl Darlow and Youri Tielemans have since followed Santos to Old Trafford. Darlow joined on a free transfer after leaving Leeds United last season, while Tielemans signed for just £35 million.
United's fourth signing of the summer is young Cristian Orozco, who joined the club officially when he turned 18 on Monday (13 July).
Orozco knows what he needs to do
Manchester United reached an agreement with Fortaleza CEIF nine months ago, but only finalised the move this week as Orozco had to turn 18 before he could officially join.
Manchester Evening News have said United signed the player because they believe he has first-team potential.
"I know my strengths are my physicality and my technique," Orozco told ESPN Colombia. "I have those qualities and, with the gift God gave me, I don’t think it will be too difficult. But everything is about adapting. I’m very young and that’s what I’ll need to do.
"I expect to learn a lot of English. When I was there, I realised just how, how important it is." Orozco visited Carrington in December, and United are expected to provide English lessons to help him settle in next season.
"I want to arrive and learn as quickly as possible. That’s what’s required so I can show my level and everything I’m capable of. I want to adapt to everything that comes my way as quickly as possible."
Orozco will likely take time to settle in. He will start his Manchester United career with the academy, much like Sékou Koné and Diego Leon have since they moved to Old Trafford.
United well set for future midfield
While United's midfield is currently going through a rebuild after Casemiro's departure, they are already well prepared for the future with the players in the academy sides.
Orozco joins a stacked Under-21s midfield setup, which also includes: Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fletcher, Jacob Devaney and Jim Thwaites. The U18s engine room is also impressive - Rafe McCormack and Jariyah Shah both impressed in front of the Old Trafford crowd in the FA Youth Cup last season.
Michael Carrick would look to the academy for assistance next season. Santos and Tielemans' arrivals are a boost to the first-team squad, but the midfield is still light on numbers. With four fronts to play on next season, Carrick is likely to call on the youngsters at one point.
Orozco could feature for the 21s in a pre-season friendly against Altrincham at the end of July, although it could be some time before his first involvement if United deem he needs more time to settle in.
