Legend Nicky Butt slams Alejandro Garnacho's attitude, calling it "a disgrace" and questioning his overall quality after a disappointing Old Trafford exit.
Manchester United's trip to Stamford Bridge was a successful one as Michael Carrick's Red Devils secured a 1-0 win thanks to a great Matheus Cunha strike as Bruno Fernandes extended his tally of 18 assists in the Premier League this season.
The game saw former United star Alejandro Garnacho get an early introduction to the pitch from the bench as he replaced the injured Estevao for Liam Rosenior's Chelsea.
The young Argentine did not make a great impression against his ex teammates, and the travelling fans made sure to let him know.
Despite facing a shaken-up United back line, with teenager Ayden Heaven and Noussair Mazraoui as the central pairing, Garnacho's poor performance caught the eye of United legend Nicky Butt, who had strong opinions on the 21-year-old's display.
This has come at a time when talkSPORT have claimed that Chelsea are already open to selling the winger less than one year after signing him from the Reds for £40 million.
Butt gives honest criticism of Garnacho's performance
After a heated feud with Ruben Amorim following United's Europa League loss to Spurs, Garnacho's exit was all but confirmed, as Chelsea came knocking with a £40 million offer, with Bryan Mbeumo coming in to replace him.
The young winger has yet to find form in blue. His quality has stirred up criticism from Nicky Butt who spoke out on The Good, The Bad & The Football Podcast.
He stated, "I thought he had an edge about him. And when he got into the first team - I will just say what I think because I was there - he got above his station way too quick. He got superstar status way too quick."
"And that's not a former player saying they get paid too much, I hope young players get paid millions, but he got superstar status too quick and he obviously scored the bicycle kick which was phenomenal. Someone in that club or team at the time should have been swatting him down, and they might have been, and he ignored them."
"But the best thing United did was sell him because, forget his ability, and I don't think he is that great anyway, but I thought his attitude was a disgrace when he was at United. More importantly when he left, and if you completely disrespect your teammates and the football club when you leave, then that's it."
Man United's attacking revolution
The summer saw huge changes in the final third at Old Trafford, with the arrivals of Mbeumo, Cunha and Benjamin Sesko giving united the firepower they needed to jump up the Premier League and push for Champions League contention.
Whilst there were initial concerns over Cunha's attitude and Sesko's experience, the quality infant of goal has certainly improved, from United's former attackers in Garnacho, Antony and Rasmus Hojlund.
United's new attackers have all reached double digits in the league for goals and assists, with the additional service of captain Fernandes as United look a completely new side.
Carrick's next challenge comes in the form of Brentford, who make the trip to Old Trafford as they continue their push for European football.
