Manchester United's summer transfer window has gotten off to an exciting start after the acquisition of Brazilian midfielder Ederson. The 26-year-old has been brought into the squad after being identified as a target by the higher-ups at the club for the past few months.

It has been reported that United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set on signing the midfielder and is ready to meet Anderson's wage demands, which The Guardian reports are around £150,000 a week, to get the transfer over the line.

To be competitive in the Champions League, United's midfield must be improved, and the addition of Anderson would do so greatly. Fans are certainly keen on the move, and it would show real intent from the club to be competitive in next year's competition.

If Anderson was to play for United next season, he could prove that he is potentially an upgrade on Casemiro, despite his fantastic end to the season. The Englishman's mobility would allow for faster transitions and a different threat going forward.
