After a brilliant final season at Manchester United, Casemiro is set to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this summer. The Brazilian has contributed nine goals and two assists this season at the age of 34, showcasing his aerial ability many times.

Casemiro signed for United in 2022 after a nine-year stint at Real Madrid. His time in Manchester has been up and down, but he has shown his quality throughout this season.

This summer will be big for United as they look to rebuild an ageing midfield. Bruno Fernandes looks likely to stay despite Saudi interest, and Kobbie Mainoo recently signed a new five-year contract at the club. However, Casemiro has confirmed he will depart at the end of this season, and Manuel Ugarte appears to have been deemed surplus to requirements.

Ahead of a big season for United, with Champions League football around the corner, top-level midfield reinforcements are needed. 

According to Sport, United's interest in Tchouaméni is real. Though it may seem like a fantasy signing to some, with two years left on his contract and Real Madrid eyeing a move for Manchester City's Rodri, a move for the Frenchman is not out of the realm of possibility. 

There is no doubting Tchouaméni's quality, and if a move to United does materialise, there would be a lot of excitement in the fanbase. With Casemiro leaving, United need to sign a world-class midfielder, and they need to replace Casemiro's quality and experience.

At just 26 years old, Tchouaméni is in the prime of his career. He is already a European champion with Real Madrid and a World Cup finalist with France. 

If the player were to become available this summer, it seems United would be ready to fight for his signature, but so far, there have been no signs of Tchouaméni agitating for a move away. However, this situation could change if Los Blancos decide to pursue a deal to sign Rodri.

United are expected to sign at least two midfielders in the upcoming transfer window and could even sign three. With Casemiro and Ugarte out of the equation, three signings in this area seems most suitable.

Although Casemiro's United career has been inconsistent at times, United are losing an experienced winner with a huge presence on the pitch. To replace this, United must go big this summer.

Tchouaméni was Casemiro's replacement when the Brazilian moved to Manchester, and has since done a fantastic job for the Spanish giants. He is regarded by many as one of the most elite defensive midfielders in Europe and he would unquestionably be a valuable asset to any squad.

It is likely that the player would be keen to extend his stay in the Spanish capital, and with two years left on his current deal, this could be an agent-driven story. If a move is counted out, alternatives for United could include Tchouaméni's teammate Eduardo Camavinga, and other players such as Adam Wharton and Angelo Stiller.
