The latest team news as Nottingham Forest prepare to travel to face Ipswich Town on Friday night.
Nottingham Forest boss Oliver Glasner has revealed that Morgan Gibbs-White is available for the Reds' trip to face Ipswich Town on Friday.
The England international was missing from Sunday's visit of Arsenal at the City Ground, having suffered a minor muscle injury in the Reds' defeat against Crystal Palace.
Speaking on Wednesday, ahead of the trip to Portman Road, Glasner confirmed that Gibbs-White is in training, and ready to face the Tractor Boys.
"Yes, he's ready,” Glasner confirmed, “He trained for the entire week, so there are no issues."
Speaking about the impending return of Gibbs-White, Glasner admitted that he will provide a big boost, but insisted that his availability has not, and will not, define Nottingham Forest.
"Of course, when your captain is available again, it's important," he insisted. "We also know that Morgan is somebody who can create chances and who can score goals himself, and that's always very positive.
"But on the other hand, I think we could see that we also, without Morgan Gibbs-White, had a very competitive team against the champions, and this gives us confidence. We lost without Morgan. We lost with Morgan.
“He's an important part. But he alone can't win the game, so we need a top team performance, but it’s good to have him back.”
Other team news
Gibbs-White was not the only subject of a fitness update, with Glasner confirming the status of several members of his Forest squad.
Among the updates was confirmation that Nikola Milenkovic, after being on the bench at the weekend, is also ready to be in the squad, but another duo were ruled out again.
"Milenkovic was already on the bench, so he is also ready to start and ready to play," he said.
"It's just Igor [Jesus] and [Nicolo] Savona who can't be involved in the matchday squad, but all of the others are fine and fit."
Jesus' injury, a muscular issue in his calf, came at a devastating time for the Brazilian, just as pleas for him to be thrown into the starting lineup after a series of impressive cameos from the bench.
Igor Jesus (Image Credit: IMAGO / Sportimage)Speaking in more detail about his recovery, Glasner urged caution, like with previous players' injuries, to avoid further complications.
“He's on track, I would say," Glasner revealed. "If everything goes perfectly, then he could return for the City game.
“But, as I said with Morgan before, it is whether it makes sense to take a risk for one game.
"For example, after City we then have two weeks off, because it's an international break. Does it make sense to take this risk when we have two more weeks? But he's on track.”
