Nottingham Forest have confirmed details of a unique Grassroots Day event on Thursday.
Community has always been an integral part of Nottingham Forest, from the fans inside the City Ground, to community involvement from the players and coaches.
That will once again be highlighted on Thursday, when Forest host an exclusive Grassroots Day event at the Nigel Doughty Academy.
The event is designed to celebrate not only aspiring young local footballers, but also to highlight the excellent work of their volunteer coaches.
It will see year five and year six students from a local school participate in a training session at the club's training ground.
In an exciting twist for the youngsters, the session will be led by Forest head coach Oliver Glasner and his coaching staff.
As well as a bespoke training session led by a two-time European champion, the young players will also have a Q&A session with the Austrian head coach as part of the day.
Forest confirmed on the club's website that similar initiatives are set to follow in due course, too, as part of their continued commitment to the Nottingham community.
"The event is the first of several initiatives planned throughout the season to champion grassroots footballers and coaches, and to strengthen the club’s connection with the local football community," they said.
"Through these opportunities, Nottingham Forest will continue to celebrate the people who make grassroots football possible and help ensure that young footballers across Nottingham have the opportunity to fall in love with the game."
