Nottingham Forest host Coventry City at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon as they look to enter the prolonged international break on a high.

Forest are coming into the game off the back of a significant 2-1 win at Villa Park last weekend; the first triumph of Oliver Glasner's tenure.

Coventry are still without a single point this season, and have not even scored in the Premier League, and will arrive starring relegation in the face, even though it is only mid-September.

Jair Cunha returned to training after missing last week's trip to Villa Park with a hamstring concern, and could feature on Saturday.

Nikola Milenkovic also missed the win over Aston Villa due to a hamstring issue, and has been ruled out of this weekend's action too.

Nicola Savona also remains sidelines as he edges closer to a return from a long-term knee injury, which was complicated by a setback in recent weeks.

With just one game until the international break, it makes little sense to risk Jair so soon after a hamstring scare, especially given how well the team coped in his absence.

It also represents a good opportunity to give Igor Jesus a chance to establish himself as a 10 alongside Morgan Gibbs-White.

The Brazilian has been substituted on in the role regularly, and thrived, and has staked a strong claim to be afforded the chance to prove himself there once and for all, especially after such a strong pre-season.

Roundtable spoke to Coventry City fan, and journalist, Ed Stratton, who shared some insight on the Sky Blues ahead of their visit on Saturday.

Plethora of changes over the summer

"There is a lot of changes in the side this year for the Sky Blues; 10 incomings with the likes of Gustavo Hamer and Taiwo Awoniyi coming in, though he will be absent through suspension.

"It is a new-look team for Coventry this season and it shows with the variety of team selections so far."

What Forest should expect, and where the game will be won and lost

"Honestly, Coventry look weak from set pieces which is a big change from last season, where they looked really solid. But, the buildup play looks fairly obvious in that they take their time to build up and play into gaps that form; their biggest issue is actually making the chances count, though.

"The Villa game showed how poor Coventry are at defending corners, so it will likely aid Forest in that regard. But if Coventry are able to threaten Forest, it will come through sustained possession."

Mood around the club

"Coventry do not know their own team at the moment. They do not look awful, but they clearly have a lot to improve to give ourselves a chance of staying up. They have had a tough start there is no denying that, but some of the ‘bigger’ games are out the way already, so it is important they move forward and make each game coming count.

"There is some frustration, obviously they are not winning, but the less reactionary fans can see it can be fixed; the fix being sorting our marking out in defensive play."
