The latest team news as Nottingham Forest prepare to face Aston Villa this weekend.
Nottingham Forest head coach Oliver Glasner has issued a positive update on the fitness of his squad.
After what felt like a plague of injuries throughout last season, the Reds' medical department have been pleasantly quiet so far this campaign.
Forest travel to Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, where they will be hoping to get their first win of the new season on the board.
Glasner will be lifted in the knowledge that he has an almost fully fit squad as they seek to do so, with only Nicolo Savona unavailable, as expected.
"Yes, fortunately it is just Nicolo [Savona who is out]," Glasner confirmed, "all the others could train for the entire week for far, so that's positive."
Savona making steady progress
Glasner offered a more detailed update on Savona's condition, as he revealed that the club are taking a cautious approach to his rehabilitation.
It comes weeks after the Italian defender suffered a setback due to overloading, which forced him to go back to only completing gym work at the time.
"Yes [I am happy with his progress], we are now [operating] on the cautious side," Glasner said.
"He had a few setbacks or reactions in his knees, and now we're really progressing the rehab very slowly, because the worst thing for a player is when you feel you're getting closer and closer [to a return from injury], and all of a sudden you have a setback, because then maybe you start two or three levels below again.
"That's why we're now progressing really slowly, but so far everything is on track, but we don't put pressure on him, it's always [about] increasing the intensity of his individual rehab sessions and looking at how his knee reacts, and so far it's all fine."
Sangare in contention
Ibrahim Sangare was not in the squad to face Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, despite previously being declared fit by Glasner.
But the expectation is that he could well return to the travelling squad to face Aston Villa this weekend, after an extra week of training.
Murillo building fitness
Although Glasner did not mention his situation directly, we know that Murillo continues to be building up his fitness.
The Brazilian defender has regularly been taken off early in games and, after the draw against Spurs, Glasner admitted that he did not return to pre-season training in the physical condition that he expects.
But the head coach insisted that he is now working hard to rectify the issue.
