Oliver Glasner is more confident than ever that Nottingham Forest will complete the transfers they want.

Nottingham Forest boss Oliver Glasner has revealed a positive update about the club's transfer activity.

Forest have so far signed four players, of whom three are at the club, after Gustavo Sa joined sister club Olympiacos on loan.

Xaver Schlager, Ousmane Diomande and Steven Benda are the trio who have arrived on Trentside so far this summer, but the Reds' business is far from over.

As well as potential outgoings, Glasner has made his desire to sign two more players before transfer deadline day clear.

It has been well reported that Glasner is seeking a new striker and wingback, though the Austrian has remained tight-lipped when asked about this publicly.

While some have grown frustrated by the club's transfer business, or what they perceive to be a lack thereof, Glasner has shown no signs of annoyance, something he rarely hid at his previous club.

In fact, on Monday, he told the media that he is increasingly confident that the club will sign the players they have set their sights on.

"We know what we can do," he insisted. "We still see a lot of potential in the team where we can improve.

“We have targeted our areas and players [that we want to recruit], and I am even more confident today than I was on Saturday that we will have these two players in by the end of the transfer window.”

Not a time to panic

Glasner was asked whether Saturday's opening weekend defeat at home to Leeds United had changed his mind about the club's transfer plans, but his answer was clear.

He insisted that he has no interest in panicking in the market, and reiterated the faith he has in his squad's ability.

"No. It stays the same," he said, "I think we would just be panicking if we start judging the players differently based on one game.

"I’ve known them for a couple of weeks and we know what they’re capable of."

Fitness building

As well as confidence in his squad and potential transfers, Glasner once again pointed to the disrupted pre-season endured by some members of his squad.

He specifically mentioned Murillo, who started and played excellently on Saturday, but conceded he should have been taken off sooner.

It is another sign that Forest need time to reach their best form, as they can only achieve that with a squad who are physically at their best.

"Some players arrived later due to different reasons," he repeated, "Some with very long injuries, like Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi, and they can’t be in their top shape.

"But, for example, I think Murillo had a very good performance, but I probably should have subbed him a little bit earlier because I could feel he was getting fatigued.

"I asked him a few times during the game and he always wanted to continue playing, and I always trust my players with how they’re feeling on the pitch."
