Sunderland have been linked with a summer transfer window move for Barcelona starlet Roony Bardghji, along with multiple Premier League rivals.
As the summer transfer window ramps up, Sunderland have been linked with multiple exciting signings over recent days, with the two standout players being Roma winger Matias Soule and Sassuolo centre-back Tarik Muramehovic.
With the Argentinian, Sunderland and Fulham appear to be the frontrunners for Soule's signature, but in terms of the Bosnian defender, Premier League foes Leeds United have emerged as favourites to sign Muramehovic in the coming days.
In addition, Sunderland have been linked with a move for Barcelona starlet Roony Bardghji in the transfer window, without outlet TEAMTalk indicating that the Black Cats have been "informed of his availability" for a summer switch.
However, the report adds that Sunderland face stern competition in the prospective transfer, with the likes of Leeds, Aston Villa, Brighton, Brentford and Everton all keeping tabs on the 20-year-old talent.
Although Sunderland continue to be linked with Roma winger Soule, who shares a similar profile to Bardghji in terms of being a left-footed right-winger, the Barcelona starlet would still be a stellar option for the Stadium of Light transfer team to target this summer.
Why Sunderland Should Sign Barcelona Winger Roony Bardghji
The Swedish youth international joined the Catalan giants from FC Copenhagen last summer in a bargain £2m move, and went on to make 28 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions, scoring twice and notching four assists.
With Barcelona's signing of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, this has seemingly made Bardghji surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp for Hansi Flick, offering the likes of Sunderland and the aforementioned interested Premier League suitors a golden transfer opportunity.
From a Sunderland perspective, boss Regis Le Bris is crying out for reinforcements at right-wing, which was a problem position for the Frenchman over the course of last season, and a marquee addition is absolutely imperative there this summer.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Sunderland have targeted the likes of Soule and Bardghji, with the Barcelona starlet regarded as a highly-rated young talent across European football.
As you would expect from a Barca signing, Bardghji oozes technical quality from the right-wing position, with his innate dribbling ability proving difficult for defences to contend with.
Also, with the three-time capped Sweden youngster being just 20-years-old, he has years ahead of him to develop and realise his lofty potential.
Regardless of the status of Soule's prospective move to Sunderland, the Black Cats' recruitment team should be making efforts to secure Bardghji's highly-contested signature this summer, and add another extremely exciting young talent with vast potential resale value to their ranks.
