Celtic have confirmed some good news ahead of the game against Hibernian.

All the positivity around Celtic from the 7-1 win over Hearts evaporated as they lost in Europe again, this time at the hands of Celta Vigo. The result means that the Hoops have lost all three of their games in the Europa League so far, two of them being at home.

Frankly, Celtic have not been good enough. They have been far too easy to play through and not clinical enough going forward.

A lot of that is due to poor recruitment or a complete lack of it in certain positions. Fortunately, there might be some in-house solutions at the club.

Celtic deliver good news ahead of game against Hibernian

One of them appears to be Callum Osmand, who has been one of the brighter spots for Celtic in recent weeks. But injury problems continue to haunt the youngster, who has barely remained fit during his time at Celtic.

The good news is that his latest injury scare is not a serious matter, although it does put his availability against Hibernian into question.

As reported by CeltsAreHere, Martin O'Neill said on Sky Sports Football: “Young Osmand has had to come off, he was cramping up as well too. That wasn’t unexpected in many aspects, he hasn’t played very much football, he’s done really well in his time on the field. So we’ll see how he is tomorrow, but overall we’ve come out of it okay.”

That is a positive, as a lot of fans would have feared worse. After all, Osmand is someone who has constantly dealt with fitness issues since he was signed last year, having come through the youth ranks at Fulham although he had not played a senior game of football at that point in time.

When given a chance, Osmand has always looked like a quality player, even this early in his senior career. The real question mark surrounds his ability to remain fit. There have been plenty of concerning signs in that respect. Hopefully, he will be able to put these issues behind him with time.

Celtic must win against Hibernian

With every defeat, the fans lose a bit more faith in O'Neill. The legendary Celtic manager did a phenomenal job last season, guiding a poor team to a league and cup double against all odds and expectations.

This time around, even O'Neill has seemed to lack that magic. And comments from certain players have suggested that there might be doubts inside the dressing room as well.

Europe might be as good as done for Celtic after losing the first three games on the trot. They need to continue racking up wins in domestic competitions though.

It is more than likely that O'Neill will be gone next summer. But if the club are forced into making a change in the middle of the season, that would not be ideal for either party.
