Celtic fans are not happy with a selection decision Martin O'Neill has made for the game against Rangers.

Celtic have named their starting XI for the League Cup quarter-final against the Rangers and it is safe to say that not every decision made by Martin O'Neill has gone down well with the supporters.

One of them has to be the selection of Sebastian Tounekti. The Tunisian winger has been given the nod.

Of course, that decision is linked with starting Kasper Hogh as the number 9 while Camilo Duran has been shifted to the right.

Now, this is something that a lot of fans do not agree with. They feel that Haissem Hassan should have been starting, Tounekti is not good enough to start and everything in between.

How Celtic fans have reacted to Tounekti starting vs Rangers

One Celtic fan wrote after the lineup was officially announced: "Hopefully keep it level till Hassan comes on, baffling decision."

Another said: "Surprised at no Hassan - would have had him before Tounetki."

A third added: "What on earth is O'Neill playing at starting Tounekti?"

It remains to be seen how Tounekti will perform against the Rangers away at Ibrox. It is safe to say that he has not been able to impress many supporters in recent times.

The winger had made an excellent start to life at Celtic when he joined last summer, but lost his form quickly and has never rediscovered it.

Despite that, he has continued to get playing time on a consistent basis but never really performed at a high level.

Should Hogh have gotten the start?

It is not just about Tounekti either. Hogh is another player whose place in the starting XI was questioned going into this game.

There were many who thought that it is Duran who should have been given the chance to lead the line against the Rangers. He has looked a lot better when playing through the middle.

As for Hogh, he has not scored in any game other than the one in which he scored a hattrick against Kilmarnock.

So, there is a lot to improve on for Hogh, even though some of his holdup play has gotten some plaudits as well.

For now, the time for discussion is over and it is up to Celtic to perform on the pitch. The Glasgow Derby is a game where nothing matters more than the result. It will be no different today at Ibrox. Let's hope the Hoops bring their A-game.
