It looked like Celtic were keeping an eye on Thomas Frank but now, there is some bad news in that regard.

Celtic have a lot to play for this season. There are four games in the league and anything can still happen there. On the other hand, they are also in the final of the Scottish Cup, where they will take on Neil Lennon's Dunfermline Athletic.

So, there is still a lot to look forward to. Perhaps more than what the fans would have expected after the club's poor performances throughout the season.

Martin O'Neill could end his interim run by winning a double. And he was unlucky not to be given the chance to manage the League Cup final earlier in the season, which Wilfried Nancy's side lost 3-1 to St Mirren.

O'Neill deserves a ton of credit for the job that he has done. But he is not going to be the long-term solution for Celtic and will be stepping down at the end of the season.

Replacing him will be a tough task. The club have already failed badly once with Nancy. They would not want to repeat that.

Thomas Frank is someone who has been linked with the club. To be fair, he could be a solid addition. While his time at Tottenham Hotspur might not have been fruitful, he was excellent for Brentford before that.

Celtic might need to move quickly if they want to hire Frank because other contenders are already emerged in the race.

According to Football Insider, Frank is one of the favourites for the Burnley job. He has also been linked with Crystal Palace constantly heading into the summer.

Burnley recently sacked Scott Parker. So, they will be on the lookout for a permanent manager.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace will part ways with Oliver Glasner at the end of the campaign.

So, a lot of vacancies are there in the Premier League, going into the summer. And someone like Frank could be a solid fit at a lot of those teams. As a result, Celtic might have a tough task convincing him to head to Scotland this summer.

Obviously, if Frank wants to remain in England and continue managing in the Premier League, then there might not be much of a point chasing his signature.

There are other managers the club have been linked with in recent times. But Frank is certainly one of the most high-profile names on that list. Now, it remains to be seen who the Hoops end up pushing for.
