Celtic have made an announcement regarding the upcoming Glasgow Derby against the Rangers at Ibrox.
Celtic will play St Johnstone in mid-week, but a lot of supporters might already have their eyes set on the Glasgow Derby at the weekend at Ibrox.
It is a Scottish League quarter-final fixture. But just a week after that, the two teams will meet again, in Premiership competition at Celtic Park.
Obviously, when these two clubs meet, controversy is never far away. And it is not different with this upcoming derby.
After the Rangers offered Celtic an away allocation of just 300 for the upcoming game at Ibrox, the Hoops have made an announcement of their own regarding the derby.
Celtic make Glasgow Derby announcement
The club have announced today that Celtic Park Events are hosting a live screening for the supporters in the comfort of the Kerrydale.
Of course, this is a good alternative option for those supporters who might have been hoping to travel to Ibrox for this fixture.
This ticketing controversy has been going on for quite some time now since there were no longer 7500 away fans at games between Celtic and the Rangers.
For a little while, it had looked like things could be heading back towards that old allocation, or at least, something approaching it.
But now, it looks like there might not be any hope that in the near future, unless something unexpected ends up happening.
Anyways, the focus of this Celtic team has to be on getting a result away at Ibrox. And in the past, we have seen that they are capable of that.
Can Celtic beat the Rangers in their own backyard?
Both teams have had their shortcomings this season. Celtic failed to qualify for the Champions League, while the Rangers could not reach Europe at all after being knocked out of both the Europa League and Conference League qualification games.
Overall, Celtic have looked like the better team and have been perfect in domestic games so far. But they have had their fair share of narrow wins.
On the other hand, the Rangers have stumbled out of the blocks under Derek McInnes and it is only recently that they have been able to string together a few wins in domestic competitions.
How strong are they really though? Well, we will find out when the two teams meet at Ibrox in the League Cup quarter-final. They will be without captain Lawrence Shankland on the day.
One thing that deserves mention is that form often ends up going out the window when it comes to the Glasgow Derby.
