The Celtic player has hinted that his time at Parkhead is set to come to an end this summer.

It would be safe to say that Celtic are in a tight title race right now. Hearts are leading by three points with as many games left to be played and the Hoops must absolutely win the Glasgow Derby this weekend in order to keep their hopes of a fifth straight Premiership crown alive.

On the other hand, the only motivation left for the Rangers this season is stopping Celtic from winning the league. So, they are expected to give it their all as well.

Celtic could do with a few more goalscorers at the moment. Daizen Maeda and Kelechi Iheanacho seem to be the only two capable of finding the back of the net at the moment.

Unfortunately for Celtic, it looks like another one of their strikers is out for the rest of the season and is most likely never going to pull on the green-and-white jersey again.

Tomas Cvancara has been dealing with a groin issue lately. And now, he has confirmed that his season is over as he will be undergoing surgery on it.

Celtic also have an option to buy included in the loan deal, as he was signed from Borussia Monchengladbach in the winter transfer window. But judging from Cvancara's message, which sounded like a farewell, it looks like the Czech striker will not be returning to Parkhead next season.

His message on Instagram to the Celtic supporters read: "This season is over for me. Next week I’ll undergo surgery after tearing my adductor. Honestly, this is not how I imagined my season at Celtic coming to an end, and not the way I wanted it to finish. But despite everything, I’m truly grateful that I had the chance to be part of this club, this team and these moments.I know there weren’t as many individual moments as I wanted, but whenever I stepped on the pitch, I always tried to help the team and give everything for the badge. And to all the fans.. THANK YOU

"For every message, every bit of support and the energy you gave me. It truly meant a lot. Now I’ll support the boys from the outside, and I truly believe this team will finish the season the right way and bring home the DOUBLE!!"

Cvancara did not have the most eventful loan spell at Celtic. He was not able to score many goals. That being said, the one highlight of his time at the club will always be the winning penalty against the Rangers at Ibrox to knock them out of the Scottish Cup in their own backyard.

The fans will treasure that memory forever, and Cvancara has written himself into the Celtic history books in his own way.

If this is indeed the end of his time at Parkhead, which it seems to be, we can only wish Cvancara the best moving forward. Hopefully, he has a speedy recovery and is back on the pitch, fully fit, as soon as possible.

As for Celtic, the club do need to add to their forward ranks this summer. Just like Cvancara, Junior Adamu is not expected to return either. Maeda could be eyeing the exit door as well, having almost left a year back. And it remains to be seen if the club will take up the option to extend an injury-prone Iheanacho's contract.
