Celtic are believed to be plotting a move to sign the Scottish Premiership's player of the season this summer.
Celtic have left themselves a lot of work to do this summer. So far, the only signing they have made is the arrival of Camilo Duran of Qarabag.
To be fair, Duran has looked like a decent signing already. He has scored in both his pre-season appearances so far, raising the expectations of the supporters.
But a lot more help is needed up front, especially after Kelechi Iheanacho passed on the chance to continue with Celtic by agreeing a new deal and instead moving to Turkey.
That has left Celtic in a tough spot. Daizen Maeda is expected to leave as well. If that happens, it would leave them with Duran and Callum Osmand as the only two choices for that striker role. Nowhere near enough. But fortunately, it looks like they have now set their sights on the Premiership's reigning player of the season.
Celtic plotting move to sign Scottish Premiership's player of the season
According to a report from Football Insider, Celtic are plotting a move to sign Claudio Braga from Hearts.
Celtic are keeping a close eye on Braga's situation. An offer of around £5 million is expected to be enough. O'Neill's side are now ready to make a move.
Hearts have already seen a number of key figures leave after the remarkable 25/26 season. So far, it is the Rangers who have benefited from that. Could Celtic join the party?
Braga was the breakthrough star of the Premiership last season. It is not hard to see why Celtic are keeping a close eye on him.
Why Claudio Braga could be a good signing for Celtic
It was just last summer that Braga joined Hearts. And in his debut campaign in Scotland, he was named the Premiership player of the season.
That goes to show how highly he was regarded for his performances for Hearts, as they were a whisker away from winning the league against all odds and expectations.
Braga played a big hand in that. The Portuguese forward scored 17 goals across all competitions. It seems to have been enough to catch the eye of Celtic.

Now, it remains to be seen if the Hoops end up making a move for the Hearts player or not, and whether they are willing to part ways with him, having already seen so many others depart.
In the past, we have seen Celtic being linked with plenty of the Premiership's top talents. But rarely have they gotten deals over the line. Will that change with Braga?
