The former Chelsea winger is a free agent this summer and could be a solid addition to this Celtic team.

Celtic need to strengthen their ranks in the summer transfer window. There are gaps and weaknesses all over the pitch that need to be addressed if the Hoops do not want a repeat of this campaign.

The flanks could do with more reinforcements. Jota has been out all season with an injury which he picked up in the second half of the 24/25 campaign. One has to wonder whether he will be the same player when he does eventually return to the pitch after such a layoff. It would almost be unfair to expect so.

On the other hand, Celtic's recent winger signings have been poor. Michel-Ange Balikwisha was signed after being tracked for years. But it is impossible to understand what the scouting team saw. He has not made a league appearance since late October and has not made a Premiership matchday squad since early December.

Joel Mvuka has been an even bigger non-entity since arriving on loan. He has not made the matchday squad even once in the league.

Sebastian Tounekti had started brilliantly but faded away quickly. Overall, he has scored five goals and provided a couple of assists, but has not even been brought off the bench in the last two league games.

So, there is barely any quality on the flanks at Celtic right now. Yang Hyun-jun is arguably the best winger that the club have right now. And James Forrest is still a decent option to have available.

The club do need some quality additions as soon as possible though. And the name of Bertrand Traore has been suggest as a potential option.

Amir Mir wrote on 67 Hail Hail: "Celtic will certainly be looking at attacking options. One man who can provide that ball-carrying magic from out wide is Bertrand Traore.

"Previously, Traore has represented Aston Villa and Ajax. The winger isn’t someone with explosive pace, but he runs with the ball in such an effortless manner.

"A player of Traore’s ability would absolutely put defenders in Scotland on their backside again and again. Plus, he is only 30."

The issue with Traore might be his recent injuries. He had started off the season with a role in the Sunderland first XI but has barely featured over the last several months due to knee problems.

Are these going to follow for the rest of his career? Or is Traore going to return to fitness soon.

He did make 49 appearances in the 24/25 campaign, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists for Ajax. So, it is not like he is someone who is injured all the time.

He certainly has some top-level experience. Traore got his big break at Chelsea. Other than that, he has played for the likes of Aston Villa, Ajax and Lyon.

At the international level, he is a legend for Burkina Faso. He has scored 21 times for his national team while appearing more than 80 times for them.

On top of everything else, Traore is expected to be available as a free agent this summer. And if he is not going to be dealing with his injury for much longer, then Celtic should definitely consider a move for him this summer.
