Celtic have been handed some good news ahead of their game against Motherwell.

Rangers put the pressure right on Celtic with a 3-1 win this weekend. That means that they now sit atop the Scottish Premiership table but the Hoops have a game in hand.

Celtic will play that game in hand tomorrow when they take on Motherwell. Of course, that is not expected to be an easy contest, especially away from home.

Celtic went into the international break in terrible form. They had lost three games on the trot. That included two defeats at the hands of the Rangers.

Naturally, the fans are worried about the direction in which things are headed. If Celtic win against Motherwell, that would at least give them some reassurance about the situation.

At least that would suggest that the international break came at the right time. If they continue to struggle, it would be hard to see light at the end of the tunnel. Fortunately, there is some positive news for the Hoops going into this match against Motherwell.

Celtic handed good news before facing Motherwell

It looks like Kieran Tierney has pretty much recovered and should be available to play very soon.

As reported by CeltsAreHere, Tierney told CelticPlayer in an interview: “I’m feeling good. I’ve trained this week.

“It was something I had for a while. It was ongoing and I never gave it the proper chance to heal.”

Obviously, Tierney is one of Celtic's most experienced players. And while his performances since returning have divided the opinion of the supporters, at this point in time, he would certainly make the team stronger.

Celtic must win against Motherwell

Martin O'Neill will know the importance of getting a result in this game against Motherwell. So, expect the manager to field the strongest team possible.

In terms of the points table, this is still very early in the season. But as far as confidence and trajectory moving forward are concerned, Celtic do need this win badly.

There were already question marks regarding the future of O'Neill going into the international break on the back of three straight defeats. And those will only grow louder if Celtic end up losing this weekend against Motherwell as well. Hopefully, it won't come to that.

Celtic fans will be hoping that a more positive version of this team shows up in the game against Motherwell.

The version that we had seen earlier in the campaign before that defeat away against LASK by a 5-1 scoreline which appeared to dent the confidence of this team completely.

Hopefully, the three-week-long international break helped them take a closer look at things, refresh and get back with a new mindset.
