The Scottish FA have made an official announcement regarding the upcoming game between Hibernian and Celtic.

Another weekend, and another time that Celtic are coming off a loss, looking to rediscover their confidence. This time around, the defeat came at the hands of Celta Vigo.

Celtic had taken the lead in midweek but ended up seeing that be overturned by the visitors. The 2-1 defeat means that they have lost all three of their Europa League games so far this season, and find themselves 35th out of the 36 teams in the competition.

Naturally, it would do them no harm to get a decent win in domestic competition and they have the chance to do that against Hibernian.

Hibernian have endured a very rough start to the campaign and are relegation contenders. Of course, these games can prove tricky at times, especially away from home. So, Celtic will need to ensure that they do not slip up. Martin O'Neill's side need to get the job done and win. Anything less will raise serious question marks over the manager's long-term future at Parkhead.

Scottish FA announce officials for Hibernian vs Celtic

Officiating will forever remain a topic of discussion when it comes to games in the Scottish Premiership or in the cup competitions. In fact, a massive error was made in the recent game between Celtic and Motherwell.

The Scottish FA have announced that Ryan Lee will be the referee for the game between Celtic and Hibernian this weekend. Chris Rae and Scott Anderson will be assisting him at Easter Road.

Nick Walsh will be on VAR duty for the matchup with Duncan Williams as his assistant. Iain Snedden has been named the fourth official.

Celtic need to win against Hibernian to restore confidence

One positive piece of news is that Callum Osmand is fit enough to start. The youngster has raised a few injury scares in recent games but remains in the picture. Hopefully, that will remain the case for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, O'Neill has handed another start to Kasper Hogh as the manager seems determined to get the best out of the club's record signings.

Let's hope that he proves successful in that cause, although from what we have seen from Hogh so far, it does not feel like he is someone with the qualities to succeed in Celtic colours.

Even then, this might be the perfect game for Hogh to find some form and confidence. Hibernian sit at the bottom of the Premiership table and have conceded 14 goals in their first nine league games of the season.
