The Scottish FA have released a statement ahead of the Glasgow Derby that proves that Celtic fans were correct.
A lot of the time, it does feel like refereeing decisions go against Celtic. Of course, there are those who try to play that down as a conspiracy theory.
Naturally, there is always going to be bias when fans discuss decisions that have gone against their team. That does not necessarily mean that they are wrong about it all of the time.
In fact, it has now been proven that Celtic fans were exactly right to feel hard done by when the Hoops did not receive a penalty in the recent game against Hibernian.
The incident happened in the second half, when Benjamin Nygren was fouled by Hibernian's Josh Campbell but no action was taken by the referee.
The SFA KMI panel have decided that both the on-field decision and the VAR one were incorrect for that incident. So, Celtic should have been given a penalty.
The entire panel voted that unanimously and it was also put at a difficulty rating of 2, which has been described as "a fairly simple decision for a select group official, though with more factors to consider."
So, it is safe to say that the officials got it wrong. The only positive is that Celtic were able to come out of the game with a win.
That being said, that does not mean that it did not affect the result of the match. Let's not forget, with the title race this tight, it could very well come down to goal difference by the end of the campaign.
If that goal had been given, it could mean an extra goal for Celtic. In fact, it could have meant more as Hibs would have had to chase the match and leave more spaces at the back, despite being down to ten men, which could have allowed the Hoops to build up their lead.
Anyways, what is done is done. Now, it is time to look towards the future. For Celtic, that means a Glasgow Derby against the Rangers at home.
It is one of the most important games of the season. While the Rangers might very well be out of the title race, they would surely love to prevent Celtic from winning it as well.
On the other hand, Celtic will know they need three points, and nothing less, to keep up with Hearts in this title race with little football left to be played.
So, this is a big one and could end up deciding the destination of the league trophy, depending on the result.
It would be safe to say that even neutrals would like a Celtic victory at the weekend just so this title race can go right down to the wire.
