UEFA have made an announcement regarding the upcoming Celtic vs Ferencvaros game in the Europa League.

It feels like Celtic fans are still reeling from their recent defeats at the hands of LASK and the Rangers. Both results have had season-altering effects on the club.

The defeat away at Ibrox ended their hopes of a treble and raised serious questions about whether this team is good enough to retain the league title. That picture will become a lot clearer when the two Glasgow giants meet again this weekend.

Celtic simply cannot wait afford to think about that Glasgow Derby right now though. That is because they are set to kick off their Europa League campaign this week.

Of course, that is a result of the defeat at the hands of LASK, which ended their hopes of being in the Champions League this season. Now, a test against Ferencvaros awaits in the Europa League.

UEFA make Celtic vs Ferencvaros announcement

The last time Celtic met Ferencvaros, it was in the Europa League as well. The Hoops won both home and away against the Hungarian side on that occasion.

They will be hoping for more of the same this time around as well. And now we know the officials who will be in charge on the night.

According to UEFA's official website, Patrik Kolarić is going to referee the game between Celtic and Ferencvaros. He will have Luka Pajić and Ivan Starčević as his two assistants for the evening.

Mario Zebec is going to be on VAR duty, and he will have Jan Boterberg as his assistant. Dario Bel has been named the fourth official.

Celtic need to bounceback after Ibrox

Celtic or the club's fans won't be dwelling much time thinking about the officials. That being said, it is important that this proves to be a match that is determined by the performances on the pitch and not by the decisions made by officiating decisions. That is all you can hope for from pretty much every game.

This is an opportunity for Celtic to bounceback from the disappointment of the weekend. But at the same time, it is also a chance to set up for the future.

This is just the beginning of the season and there is already a world of negativity around the club and its performances.

They cannot afford any more at this point in time. That is why it is important for them to win this game of football.

It will set them up well to try and get a result against the Rangers this weekend. There seemed to be a world of difference between the two teams when they met at Ibrox. And a lot will need to change to bridge that gap.
