Celtic fans will be hoping to see the club strengthen the squad significantly this summer, even though they might have had just enough in the tank to win the league this season as well. Despite spending around £40 million on new signings, the Rangers somehow finished third with 72 points, five worse than what the Hoops had in the 20/21 campaign.

Hearts were the surprise package of the campaign and deserve a lot of credit for what they were able to achieve. And if they play their cards right, they might be in another title race next season.

Celtic's job is to make sure that does not happen and that they are able to build a large gap between themselves and the rest of the Scottish teams once again. For that to happen, they will need to add more quality to the squad.

Signing a quality striker might be the first thing they need to do this summer. We saw in the last weeks of the season the difference that can make.

Daizen Maeda finally found his form and solidified himself as a Celtic legend. But he might choose to leave this summer. If he does, that was best ending possible. We can only wish him the best.

On the other hand, Kelechi Iheanacho was immense, consistently scoring winners off the bench. It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up handing him an extension. They do have the option for another year. But even if they do, there will be question marks over his fitness as he has rarely started games.

Kasper Hogh is someone who has been immense this season for Bodo/Glimt, as the Norwegian side made a historic run into the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Celtic have been linked with Hogh for a little while now but most thought such a move was unrealistic and that other, more financially stronger clubs would swoop in ahead of them. But as it turns out, that might not be the case after all.

According to FootballTransfers, Gianluca Di Marzio said: “As it stands right now, Celtic are leading the race to land Kasper Hogh. I see it as very likely that he could join Celtic during the summer.”

If Celtic do end up signing Hogh, that would have been considered a major coup for the club.

Hogh is coming off a season in which he has scored five goals in the Champions League. Two against Manchester City, one each against Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Sporting CP.

When was the last time any Celtic player had that sort of an impact in the Champions League?

One would imagine that it would take at least in the region of £10 million to sign Hogh. Bringing him to Parkhead would be a statement of intent on the part of the club and they need to make one to be honest.
