Celtic players openly trolled the Rangers after winning the league by beating Hearts on the final day of the campaign.
Celtic certainly took the hardest road possible to this league title. But in many ways, that is why it feels the sweetest to many of the supporters, who have enjoyed constant success and should be used to it by now.
Yet, when Callum Osmand scored the third goal, a lot of the supporters could not contain themselves and got on the pitch to celebrate.
Those scenes would not have unfolded if the title had been secured weeks back. But the nature of the achievement, and the mountains they had to climb just to get in that position made the emotions flow out of the fans.
Realistically, Celtic had no business even being in a title race this season. Over the season, the Rangers spent close to £40 million on incomings while the Hoops' squad got weaker.
Then there was the managerial upheaval. Brendan Rodgers quit after falling eight points behind in the title race. Incidentally, his last loss came at the hands of Hearts.
Martin O'Neill was brought back in a surprise decision to take interim charge and he did brilliantly. But just as the Hoops had gotten some momentum, the club decided to bring in Wilfried Nancy as permanent manager.
That was a mistake. Nancy lost six of his eight games in charge and was sacked after just 33 days in the job. O'Neill was brought back again, this time until the end of the season.
Yes, there have been a lot of complaints with the performances. But one cannot argue with the results. Celtic are league champions after three managerial changes over the season. And if they had stuck with O'Neill, they probably would have been playing to complete the treble next weekend against Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup final.
This has been a grand success for Celtic. But at the same time, it has been an absolute failure for the Rangers as well. It was their easiest path to a league title and they finished third, with 72 points. For context, the Hoops had 77 points in the 20/21 campaign.
After the league title win, the Celtic players decided to poke the Rangers a bit with their rendition of the 'Simply The Best' anthem. The video was even posted on the club's official social media platforms.
Of course, the Celtic fans have done that on their visits to Ibrox, famously outsinging the home supporters.
Obviously, Celtic still have another trophy to play for this season before heading into the summer. There is a lot of work to do. They need to improve, even though they have won the league title again.
Also, let's not forget, there is expected to be a managerial change as well. Unless O'Neill decides that he wants to continue. But in many ways, this might be the perfect ending to his career. The decision is up to him though.
