The Celtic player has one 'world class' attribute that will remind fans of a certain Kyogo Furuhashi.

Celtic have faced heavy scrutiny and criticism for their transfer business in recent seasons. Since Ange Postecoglou left for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023, it has felt like the squad has been left weakened after every summer window.

It has been no different this time around. The club's transfer plans seemed to take a turn  following their failure to qualify for the Champions League again.

For weeks, they were being linked with players who could go directly into the starting XI. But suddenly, they shifted towards youngsters and loan signings following their play-off exit at the hands of LASK.

Obviously, that has had a negative impact on the team. At the same time though, it has given the opportunity to a few players who might not have gotten those chances otherwise.

Celtic player's movement branded 'world class'

One player who seems to have stepped up to the plate in recent times is Callum Osmand. The striker was brought in last summer after having come through the youth ranks at Fulham.

Not many would have expected Osmand to make much of an impact but he has looked like a quality player whenever given the chance. Injuries have been his only problem so far.

Tony Watt seems to be a big fan of the young forward already, even describing his movement as 'world class'. As reported by Glasgow World, he said while speaking on Clyde 1:

"I seen enough of him last season to be excited. He works his socks off. But we played him in a pre-season friendly and his movement in behind, and I'm not exaggerating here, it was world class. His movement, I'm not saying he's a world class player, I'm saying his movement is.”

Is Callum Osmand Celtic's next superstar?

Obviously, Osmand still has a long way to go in football and has barely taken his first steps in the senior game. But there can be no question about his talent.

Osmand has recently gotten his chances on the left flank and taken them. He was a bright spot after coming on in the game against Benfica, even though he perhaps should have scored.

He rectified that in the following game by scoring two goals against Hearts in the first half itself. Worryingly, Osmand was taken off at the break with a hamstring issue but it is not thought to have been serious enough to keep him out of action for any considerable length of time.

So, the expectation is that Osmand will be in the starting XI in Celtic's upcoming game against Celta Vigo in the Europa League.

Obviously, that is a tougher test. But if Osmand can pass with flying colours, these might actually be the signs that the club have their next superstar on their hands.
