According to reports in the media on Sunday evening, a Rangers first team player is on the verge of departing the club during this busy summer transfer window.
Earlier on today, the slow start to the new Derek McInnes era managed to get even worse, as Rangers were defeated 2-1 to Hibs in the gaffer's first home game in charge. There are already calls for him to be sacked, and we are still in early August.
It was an absolutely dismal display, once again, meaning it is one draw and two defeats from the opening three games of the McInnes era, and you fear for his future if the Europa League qualifying deficit is not overturned in the second leg.
Nevertheless, the defeat to Hibs is not the only news story from Sunday. Indeed not, as it is being reported by Rangers Review, Turkish side Corum FK are closing in on a deal to sign Mohamed Diomande, for a fee of around £4.5 million pounds.
The Ivorian international played the full 90 in the opening game against Dundee United, and came on at half time against Hibs, despite this deal being seemingly close to going through.
There have been flashes from Diomande in a Rangers shirt, and he is a player with good pedigree, but he has not always been the most consistent player, and a lot of fans would not be too gutted to see him go.
Perhaps that is an indictment of the bigger picture though. Why aren't clearly talented players able to work at Ibrox? Thelo Aasgaard scored against France at the World Cup with Norway, and has scored a hat-trick playing alongside Erling Haaland, yet even he can struggle for consistency at Rangers. Why is that?
Over the years, the fans love a player like that. An entertainer, someone who can wow the crowd. Yet in recent years, that player - alongside many other types of players - are just not working out at the club, for whatever reason.
Interestingly enough, it is not the first time a Turkish club have been mentioned as trying to sign a Rangers player today. Rangers Review also reported earlier - as we aggregated - that Galatasaray had seen a £22m bid for Youssef Chermiti turned down by the club, much to a lot of people's surprise. The more cynical fans have said his injury today was not really an injury, but we will have to wait and see on that one.
Well, there we have it. It looks as if that Diomande played his final game for the club earlier today.
