Olympiacos has clear plans to reinforce its defense ahead of next season. It is said they could sign two right-backs and two left-backs, depending on who leaves and who stays.
With the almost certain departure of Costinha to Brighton & Hove Albion, Jose Luis Mendilibar's team has set its sights on a full-back from another Premier League team: Aston Villa.
According to SportReport.gr, Thrylos has shown interest in Andres Garcia, who has not yet established himself with the Villans. Garcia, 23, was signed by the English club in January 2025 from Levante for around $7.7 million.
The report indicates that Aston Villa has decided to loan him out ahead of the next transfer window to give him playing time and increase his value. "The decision has the approval of Emery," they explained.
That said, Olympiacos is not the only interested club. In Spain, Garcia is being followed by Elche and Valencia. Italian clubs are also mentioned as interested, although it is not specified which ones.

There are reports indicating that the Greek club could also look for two left-backs, as the situations of Francisco Ortega and Bruno Onyemaechi are uncertain. If so, it is logical that Olympiacos is looking to solve some of these problems with loans rather than permanent buys.
Garcia played only 8 matches with Aston Villa during the 2025-26 season: He made six appearances in the Premier League, one in the FA Cup, and one in the UEFA Europa League. In his first season with the Villans, he played only 10 matches.
According to Transfermarkt, his market value is around $7.7 million, still positioning him as a very interesting prospect.
We also have to take into account the UEFA requirements the club must meet regarding the roster. At the moment, Olympiacos needs a club-trained player to fill the four spots, not to mention that Konstantinos Tzolakis has been linked to an exit from the team this summer.
Additionally, the Legend needs to have four association-trained players, of whom they currently have only Konstantinos Fortounis, who is returning to his beloved club.
