Palmeiras stands firm after rebuffing a €10 million bid for Arthur Gabriel, securing the starlet’s future with a contract renewal despite intensifying interest from Olympiacos.
According to a report by media outlet Tuttomercato, via TransferFeed, Brazilian club Palmeiras has rejected an offer sent by Greek side Olympiacos aimed at securing the services of 21-year-old left-back Arthur Gabriel. In earlier news, TransferFeed had reported that Olympiacos had made a previous offer of 9.5 million euros to secure the services of the player; however, Palmeiras has rejected that offer as well.
It is being reported that the latest offer made by Olympiacos was of an amount hovering around the figure of €10 million. TransferFeed, in its article based on the report by Tuttomercato, also mentioned that Gabriel is set to renew his contract with the Brazilian side. The player’s current contract with Alviverde runs until 31 December 2029, and as per Transfermarkt, the full-back’s market value at present is €3 million.
It is noteworthy that the 21-year-old left-back from São Paulo, Brazil, is a product of the Palmeiras academy and has, since his debut for the club’s senior side in 2026, featured in 6 official league games. His debut for the first team came in a 2026 Campeonato Paulista fixture against Mirassol. The game was won by Palmeiras by a margin of 1-0. Gabriel entered the squad in place of regular left-back Jefté, who has to sit out the match owing to an injury suffered on 12 January 2026
Gabriel is considered one of the brightest prospects in Brazilian football, and in September 2025, he received a call-up to the Brazil National U-20 football team for a training schedule.
Arthur Gabriel renewing his contract with Palmeiras, and the club rejecting all offers for him, is testimony to the trust that the club has placed in its academy graduate, and if he continues in current form, Gabriel will definitely be able to pay the trust back with rich dividends. Olympiacos, on its part, will have to continue its search for a young, talented left-back capable of strengthening the squad.
In other news from the Olympiacos camp, Real Betis have reportedly shown interest in signing Nigerian full-back Bruno Onyemaechi. The 27-year-old player is currently under contract with Piraeus, who acquired the player from Portuguese side Boavista for an amount of €2.5 million, and are reportedly willing to sell him if an offer of €6 million or more arrives. It is worth noting that the deal with Boavista had a sell-on clause that guaranteed the Portuguese side 10% of any amount that Olympiacos sells Onyemaechi for.
