Olympiacos have interest in Sporting's Daniel Bragança, but Wolves could complicate the deal. The Portuguese midfielder is valued at €12M.
Olympiacos F.C. are interested in a Portuguese midfielder, but once again another signing could become complicated because of interest from an English club, this time Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
According to recent reports from TransferFeed, 27-year-old Sporting Lisbon midfielder Daniel Bragança is a target for Olympiacos. However, the report also adds that another player being considered by the Greek club and its director of football, Antonio Miguel Cardoso, is Porto midfielder Stephen Eustáquio.
According to the report, both signings appear very difficult for the Red-and-Whites, mainly due to financial considerations, as both players are under contract with their respective clubs.
In Bragança’s case, his contract runs until 2027, meaning Olympiacos would have to pay a transfer fee to sign him this summer. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is around €12 million.
After seeing this report, on OlympiacosRoundtable we checked with our sources, who confirmed that the club is indeed interested in the player. However, they have not made a concrete offer, and there has been no significant progress to indicate a high probability that the player will move to the club from Piraeus.
Our sources also confirmed that Bragança has attracted interest from clubs in Spain and England, specifically Valencia and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were recently relegated to the Championship.
It is not the first time Wolves have been linked with an Olympiacos transfer target. A few weeks ago, we also reported on Olympiacos Roundtable that the Greek club were interested in signing Portuguese fullback Rodrigo Pinheiro, who ultimately joined Wolves, accepting the challenge of playing in England’s second division.
Well, it appears the club from Molineux could once again complicate a potential signing for the Greek club, although, as our sources indicated, there is only interest at this stage, and no concrete moves have been made yet.
Elsewhere, the club managed by Jose Luis Mendilibar is also making progress in strengthening its right-back position after securing the signing of Argentine fullback Pablo Maffeo from Mallorca.
Now, according to Greek outlet Athletiko, Olympiacos are working on the signing of 29-year-old St. Pauli right back Manolis Saliakas.
Saliakas is reportedly considered a perfect fit to strengthen the team’s defense. The Red-and-Whites need Greek players to comply with UEFA squad registration rules, and Saliakas fits that category while also having genuinely performed at a high level in Germany.
According to the latest reports, Thrylos have increased their offer to St. Pauli, and the fee they have proposed is now closer to the Bundesliga club’s demands.
The transfer could be completed soon.
