And breathe, after what was possibly the most stressful 90 minutes of any England match this century, Thomas Tuchel's men have managed to overcome their biggest challenge yet.

A lot was made of the hostile atmosphere and the potentially debilitating altitude England would have to face as they traveled to the Azteca for the first time since Maradona's 'hand of god' 40 years ago.

But despite all the noise and all the suffering Thomas Tuchel's team had to endure throughout this match, against all odds, England got it done.

After an initial cagey half an hour, England were able to weather the storm and soon find themselves one-nil up after Jude Bellingham was able to crash into the box to get on the end of a delicious ball from Bukayo Saka to put his side ahead in the Azteca.

Soon after the following kickoff, England found themselves on the counter again, where Kane was able to square the ball across goal to Bellingham, who once again was able to net for the Three Lions, who would have felt  as if they were in dreamland with a quickfire two nil lead.

Albeit, Mexico were soon able to hit back through Julián Quiñones, who was able to blast his shot into the roof of the net and kickstart what was a period of dominance for El Tri, which saw them come close to levelling multiple times before half-time.

It didn't take long for England to find themselves in more bother, with Jarell Quansah being given his marching order after his foot went over the ball in a sliding challenge, which saw his side go down to ten men and a montain to climb.

Nevertheless, less than five minutes later, Anthony Gordon was able to earn his side a crucial penalty, which Harry Kane was able smash home to provide England with some much-needed breathing space.

However, Kane soon found himself as the culprit of a spot kick up the other end of the pitch, after a contentious penalty was given against him following a VAR check, which Raul Jimmenz was able to slot away with ease.

What then ensued was 33 excruciatingly long minutes in which England had to defend for their lives and cover every blade of grass possible to keep the Mexican's at bay, which the Three Lions were able to do tremendously.

With half the team barely even capable of standing following the full-time whistle, Thomas Tuchel's men were able to put in one of the great England performances, and will certainly act as a significant boost as they now look to go one step further against Norway on Saturday.

Following yet another man-of-the-match performance from the Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham once again rose to the occasion and proved to be the difference-maker, providing not only a brace but also a goal-saving clearance that kept the Three Lions intact soon after conceding.

The Number 10-inspired performance was also accompanied by the captain and England's top goal scorer, Harry Kane, who was able to add to his tally for the tournament through a crucial penalty, which ultimately proved to be the winning goal for England as they fought their way into the quarter finals.

Although tonight's team effort cannot go understated, with every player putting a shift covering every blade of grass needed until they physically couldn't anymore, for as long as Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham continue to step up for when they are needed the most, England may just have a chance of finally being able to bring football home.
