The Atlanta Dream added DeWanna Bonner.
The rich get richer.
According to ESPN, the Atlanta Dream are adding six-time All-Star DeWanna Bonner.
The Phoenix Mercury and Bonner agreed to a buyout, making Bonner a free agent. Bonner's deal with the Dream for the remainder of the 2026 season will be at the prorated maximum or about $116,000
A two-time WNBA champion, Bonner appeared in 37 games for Phoenix this season. She averaged 10.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 39.4% from the field, 26.2% from beyond the arc and 84.8% from the free-throw line.
The Dream, as of this writing, are 25-13. They are a title contender with Angel Reese, Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard leading the way.
Bonner has been in the WNBA since 2009. She has played for the Mercury (twice), Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever.
"At this stage of my career, I don't know what the future holds, but I'm grateful to the Mercury for giving me the opportunity to play in what could be one of my final postseason opportunities," Bonner said in a statement. "The fans, this community and the Mercury organization have embraced me throughout my career, and I'll always be grateful for that."
Phoenix GM Nick U'Ren said in a statement Monday, "Because of the relationship we have with DeWanna, we worked out a buyout agreement that gives her the opportunity to chase a title in what could be her final postseason."
Bonner ranks third in WNBA history in career points and fifth in career rebounds. The 6-foot-4 forward/guard is expected to come off the bench for Atlanta, which was upset in the first round of the playoffs last year by Indiana.
Bonner holds career averages of 14.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the regular season and 13.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in the playoffs. She won titles in 2009 and 2014 with Phoenix.
The Dream have never won a championship. Let's see if they win it this year after adding Bonner.
Atlanta made a blockbuster trade before this season, acquiring Reese from the Chicago Sky. Reese is averaging 16.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game in her first season with the Dream. The three-time All-Star is shooting 43.7% from the floor, 18.0% from beyond the arc and 73.8% from the foul line.
