The Fever announced Tyasha Harris will miss the rest of the season with a broken left fibula, dealing Indiana another injury blow before the playoffs.
The Indiana Fever announced Saturday that Tyasha Harris will miss the rest of the season with a broken left fibula. Harris was hurt in the third quarter of Thursday's regular-season finale, an 86-66 loss to the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center.
Indiana opens the WNBA playoffs Sunday at 4 p.m. ET against the defending champion Las Vegas Aces at Michelob Ultra Arena. Game 1 airs on ABC.
Harris Injured in Regular-Season Finale
Minnesota led 74-38 with roughly 3:30 to play in the third quarter when Harris drove for a layup and came down awkwardly on her left leg. Team staff carried her off the floor. Indiana's designation that night was a left ankle injury, and Fever coach Stephanie White had no update on her after the game.
In 11 minutes before the injury, Harris had 4 points and 2 assists. She made one of her two 3-point attempts and one of two free throws.
Harris appeared in 39 games this season and started four. Her averages were 4.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across 13.6 minutes a game. She shot 35.2% from 3-point range and 86.2% at the free-throw line, and she had 79 assists against 20 turnovers.
On June 27, she scored 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting in 30 minutes of a 111-87 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
Harris Returned Home to Indiana This Season
Indiana signed Harris on April 12. An Indianapolis native, she played high school basketball at Heritage Christian before playing college basketball at South Carolina.
For Fever COO and general manager Amber Cox, the signing meant bringing Harris back home to Indy.
"We're excited to add Ty to our backcourt," Cox said. "She is a dynamic guard who will add depth to our rotation. She brings great experience, not only playing in the league, but for our coaching staff as well."
The Dallas Wings took Harris seventh overall in the 2020 draft. She spent three seasons in Dallas, then two with the Connecticut Sun, which White coached in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, Harris started 38 of 39 games for Connecticut and averaged 10.5 points.
A knee injury held her to five games after she returned to Dallas in 2025.
Thursday was the 211th regular-season appearance of her career. She has played in 16 playoff games, the last with Connecticut in 2024.
Fever Also Monitoring Aliyah Boston
Aliyah Boston also exited Thursday, checking out in the second quarter with what White called a flare-up of her right lower leg injury. Boston did not return.
Kelsey Mitchell averaged 24.7 points this season, and Caitlin Clark averaged 22.3. Rookie Raven Johnson, whom Indiana drafted in April, also appeared in 39 games. Johnson had 6 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals against Minnesota.
Fever Open Playoffs Against Defending Champion Aces
Indiana finished 28-16, which made it the No. 6 seed for a third straight year. Las Vegas won its last seven games to finish 31-13 but slipped to the No. 3 seed when the Golden State Valkyries beat the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday night.
The Fever took the July 5 meeting 84-68 and the July 12 meeting 109-75. The Aces won 86-84 in overtime on Aug. 6.
Game 2 is Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET in Indianapolis. A Game 3, if needed, would be played Thursday, Oct. 1, in Las Vegas.
