A'ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier headline the five highest-rated WNBA players in NBA 2K27 ahead of the game's Sept. 4 release.
With NBA 2K27 putting the WNBA's talent under the spotlight, some players stand above the rest. The video game franchise released the NBA and WNBA rankings in July, sparking a conversation about the top players.
WNBA guard Caitlin Clark, Spurs center Victor Wembanyama, and former guard Derrick Rose are the 2K feature covers for this year's game. NBA 2K27 is set to release Sept. 4, and fans can check out their favorite players' ratings now.
This year is the WNBA's 30th season, and one theme for the league is the year of the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.). Here are the top five players ranked in NBA 2K27 currently.
5. Alyssa Thomas
Forward Alyssa Thomas, who is a six-time All-Star, missed this year's All-Star roster for the first time since 2021. However, she is fifth in overall ratings in this year's game.
The Maryland product has a 96 overall rating and is the only player from the Phoenix Mercury to be rated in the top ten. While she hasn't captured her first ring, her 2K rating is a symbol of her dominance in the league.
Thomas is currently averaging 14.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 51.1% from the field. She is currently under contract until 2029, when she will be an unrestricted free agent at 37 years old.
Every year, Thomas is in the conversation for MVP, and the 2K rating reflects that.
4. Breanna Stewart
Forward Breanna Stewart, a three-time WNBA champion, is tied with Thomas at No. 5; 2K placed her at No. 4. This year, the New York Liberty are struggling to remain in the top five in league standings.
The Liberty are in seventh at 20-13 and are currently on a four-game winning streak. Stewart is leading the team in points (21.3), steals (1.2), and blocks (1.5).
Stewart is currently fourth in points per game with 21.3 behind guard Caitlin Clark (21.6), guard Kelsey Mitchell (24.2), and forward A'ja Wilson (26.3). This season, the Liberty have experienced injuries and waivers, but the New York native continues to lead the team back to the postseason.
3. Napheesa Collier
Forward Napheesa Collier, who recently debuted in "Life In The W", a docuseries on three superstars and their 2025 season experience as a whole. The docuseries shows how she adapted after having a child and the behind-the-scenes of her injury-riddled 2025 season.
Collier returned to the Minnesota Lynx lineup on July 22 to make her season debut, and she has not disappointed. She has an overall rating of 97 and is third in the top five rankings.
Before her return, the team continued to attack the season in stride behind rookie guard Olivia Miles' performance and addition to the team.
Seven games in, Collier is averaging 19 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 51% from the floor and 50% from three.
Minnesota is currently in first place at 27-7 and are on two game winning streak.
2. Caitlin Clark
Guard Caitlin Clark is averaging a career-high 21.6 points per game while shooting 35.5% from three. While her three-point shot has fluctuated throughout the season, she has played 28 out of the team's 32 games.
This year, the Fever guard is tied with Collier for third, but 2K placed her second in overall ratings at 97.
The Fever guard has missed four games this season and started on a minutes restriction. However, her minutes have increased, but she is still at a career-low 30.3 minutes per game to avoid strain.
Indiana is currently on a one-game winning streak after defeating the Chicago Sky on Aug. 8. This season, she scored a career high 45 points.
1. A'ja Wilson
Forward A'ja Wilson has the highest overall rating this season with 98. Alongside Collier, Wilson also was featured in the "Life Inside the W" as the docuseries captures her season leading up to her third title.
The Aces superstar is leading the league in points per game at 26.3, while averaging 9.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 steals.
The four-time MVP is on pace to possibly win her fifth. Las Vegas is third in league standings behind the Golden State Valkyries and Minnesota Lynx.
The Aces are first in field goal percentage, shooting 48.8% from the field. Also, they are third in three-point percentage, shooting 35.8% from downtown.
